Question(s) anyone done the x pipe exhaust mod on the M50i? if yes anyone in Toronto Canada area that can recommend a good muffler shop that did job for you? wondering if only doing the x pipe vs also doing muffler delete would still make a better sound or if need both to get the improvements?

Yeah I got it done at joey's diagnostics on hylan blvd in SI.
Thats where I do all my exhaust work
They just replaced it with same size piping

I've been actively looking for mods for this car but there is literally nothing out except a piggyback chip. I am looking for more sound since its got enough power

The factory exhaust is garbage. I dont even notice a difference when in sport plus. Still sounds very similar. Sounds good at cold start for 10 seconds that poof all gone.

Even the flap mod wont make much of a difference. I havent attempted it yet but I am looking for more pop and crackle. Your short clip with rev's that was in sport plus?

I am glad you enjoy the mod!

I am a big car mod guy and hoping for some exhaust options, but that poppy sound is not cool IMO. Res delete on other cars wasn't so obnoxious. I hope we get some better choices.

The exhaust flaps will make somewhat of a difference, thats the first thing I did when I got the car before taking out the resonator.
The rev video is in sport individual with everything set on max.

When you say you tack welded the "flaps" open....

Do you mean singular.... or plural?

How many exhaust flaps are there?

One on each side for the V8 exhausts
Total of 2

Thanks..... learn something new every day. I would need to see the muffler orientation..... but I'm assuming 1 pipe on each side is "un-flapped", and the other pipe is flapped?

I actually thought the muffler was a 2-out muffler.... with tailpipe splitters.

Presumably it's a 4-out muffler?

I should of taken some pics when it was up on the lift.
Essentially it is 2 seperate pipes coming from the headers/downpipes to the resonator and continuing as 2 pipes down to the muffler where it then branches out to 4 pipes (outlet from muffler) (that is where the exhaust flaps are mounted)
The exhaust flaps are one on each side so you'll get 1 open pipe from each side when valves are closed.

Guys Meisterschaft has a full exhaust for this car now, it's on the pricey side though.

They have to bench the ecu to tune on the 2020's? Did BMW up the integration level on latest update?

I had my 19 m550i updated in October but integration level stayed the same so I was able to re load my Evolve tune when I got home

My last software update was in August, they did bench tune both PCM's and from what I understand from Bryan BMW continues to change the software to prevent the ability to tune but of course the tuners continue to get around it. lol

So you've done the downpipes + G-Power SW mod, resulting in 670 HP? I am really interested in how this changes the exhaust sound, because of the OPF in EU. Do you have some pics and maybe before/after videos?
