I think your dealer is brainfarting.
We all need to wait around 7+ months and yours gets made immediately after ordering, that's not going to happen.

As of this Friday's BMW has stopped supplies of all parts and deliveries of cars to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

My X5 is scheduled for production next week, but no one has any idea when it is going to be shipped and delivered.

Crazy times...

BMW stops production in European and South African plants for the following 4 weeks.
What with Spartanburg. Is there news that they are going to stop the following days?

I talked to BMW USA

As of yesterday production of X’s in the US is running a few days ahead of schedule. They have not had a reduction in supply from Germany.

I should add I’m scheduled for production on an X5 M50i week 15 which is April 5-12.

My M50d entered production this Monday and VIN is assigned.
One week ahead of schedule. No one knows when it will be shipped and delivered in Europe

My M50i was shipped last Friday and I’m told won’t arrive in Connecticut for another couple of days. Not sure why - most posters here have reported it taking about three days or less to the two-state area.

I'm in the same boat as you with a Week 15 Build, @Mlgatl. I'm in "Production Begins" right now...you too?

I'm also scheduled for production week 15. Hopefully they can start a little sooner 😁
Delivery around the 25th of May if all goes well. Fingers crossed.

Big 3, Honda, Toyota & Hyundai all shuttering US plants for varying amounts of time.

BMW won't be far behind. I'd guess by the end of the week they will suspend production.

I spoke to NJ HQ on this topic this morning. They said Spartanburg was still in operation but Germany and South America were hit with operational shut downs. They weren't clear on these other factories disrupting supply chain, but I its a good guess to assume that they will.

My take is that if your car is in production, parts have been allocated for your VIN and it should go through. If you are like me, wth 'order received' status my guess is that the build will be put off by weeks of delay.

What status would a car have for production week 15. Would it already be in a pre-production status with allocated parts?

you can see your status by going to mybmw.com and entering your order number or VIN. From there you will see the various stages of production and where your order currently sits. Some options delay builds out as much as 3 months - that's before any disruptions from the COVID issues facing the world today.

I'm in Europe. We don't have the possibility to track orders online. So I have no clue what status it is in. Dealer told me production week 15. That's it.

I ordered in July last summer so it would be really annoying if production got delayed again.

EU customers cannot track their car, we need to call the dealer for info about our order.
