Looks like forum sponsor vendors may have our backs. This is reasonable: https://www.bmwpartspros.com/p-bmw-o...-xseriesmspare

If you have M Sport brakes make sure it is a wheel that will fit over them. There are some spare tire kits that people have posted for the G05 that will not work with the M Sport brakes.

I just received my Modern Spare kit yesterday. I ordered it mid-December so they are very back ordered. Supply issues from China.
It is heavier than I expected. The entire kit fits in the factory location. I have M-sport brakes so I had to also get the spacer. The spacer doesn't fit in their bag but there is room in the spare location to keep it stored next to the tire. The extra 50 or 60 pounds of weight in the rear unexpectedly improved the ride rather noticeably. I have the air suspension. Last edited by robby818; 02-13-2021 at 11:18 PM.. |

Purchased the following items for the kit:
36-11-6-880-744 : Spare Wheel 71-10-6-889-264 : Lifting Jack 71-10-6-877-210 : Shelf 71-12-6-788-617 : Lug Wrench Crank 71-12-1-507-292 : Chock 71-12-6-886-420 : Crank Handle 71-15-6-756-073 : Rod 71-15-1-180-625 : Spare Retainer 71-10-9-909-543 : Top Nut 71-15-6-756-072 : Cover 71-15-6-754-340 : Ring I don't think the last 5 parts can be used with this configuration. There is mechanical interference with the Lifting Jack. Also, I think the part number for the Top Nut may be wrong - it won't screw on to the Rod. Rest of the parts seem to be the correct items. |

I have the RFTs , But does anybody know what kind of support one could expect from BMW roadside assistance if I were to go with non-RFT and no spare? 1000 bucks would go along way in solving my issues on the road as well.

I have the 20" wheels w/ M Sport brakes. In retrospect, I would not get the modern spare and instead just get the BMW spare because it does not require a huge spacer. I think the BMW spare weighs less too. |

n.b. I have 401, not 50i. Their website will tell you if it will fit. Will probably need spacers. |

The BMW one is good yes - but i think it's a nightmare to get hold of & also costs about 3/4x more than it would when spec'ing the car from new. Merry Christmas!

I think after all was said and done the modern spare was $300 cheaper than the BMW spare, but I was disappointed in how heavy it was and the huge spacer and their shipping estimates were never accurate so it arrived months after it was originally promised. |

I came across this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273784629...kAAOSwW-9f9Lx1
Although alloy looks really different! But cheap for the price. |
