New BMW Connected Drive App 'My BMW'

BMW has launched a new app 'My BMW' which will be replacing the existing BMW Connected Dive app.

Available to download from Apple App Store.

Showing in my app store (UK), works fine although the features are limited at the moment.

According to BMW, further features such as RSU, Digital Key etc. are to be added in later versions.

Downloaded. Nothing ground breaking as current features are the same as Connected. Can only assume this is a ground up app rebuild to ensure it's compatible with Apples security requirements for the digital key offering.

Doesn't currently support remote view but says its coming....

Just downloaded it in the UK.

Less features than the previous app but hopefully it's more stable and allows them to add more features that work reliably. It does look nice though. Shame I can't control the cars climate and nav etc. When the cars running like I could with the old app. That was really useful so I'll maybe stick with both apps until one is discontinued.

It is being tested in selected markets for now.

I'm surprised BMW doesn't just hire away some senior Tesla software engineers, pay them a bunch of money, and give them the autonomy to create great apps.

Seems like a no-brainer to one-up Tesla's tech AND have BMW hardware.

I've signed into the new app with my ConnectedDrive account but can't see any cars. It says "If this vehicle is added to this account it will be removed or disconnected from any other account."

If I add one to the "My BMW" app does it get removed from the "Connected" app?

Still a unicorn around here. The usefulness of the USA BMW.com site on my phone appears to be limited to trying to sell me a car, vice providing me any helpful information or updates....
