I'm sorry to popp your bubble but I own my E34 M5 since 23 years and my E32 735i since 24 years, next to my other 4 BMW.

But please, call me kid. My first car was the 7 Series which I own till today. Never drove any other brand but BMW and my american classics.

Sounds like you've got your own museum.

LOL!
160/165 to the wheel, not anywhere near "slow" my friend. You are clueless. Better stick to your junkyard.

I just had my car retuned today, due to a software update, 02 sensor repair, the car being reverted to stock.

Got to talking with my tuner. Here in Europe, they have actually OUTLAWED all car manufacturers from producing cars with "crackles and pops".

My tuner "can" program the car to do it again (so it is possible).... but they discourage people from doing it, particularly if they still have cats in their car, because it can damage them.

In other words just put a burble tune

No, EU ecology is just a cover for additional tax revenue.

They even raise car insurance rates how HP going up.

They have f..... 1 liter engine, terrible.

If they care about environment they would not use JETS to travel, they would travel with EV, zero emission.

Imagine having to tune a 90K performance car. These should sound good out the box.

Yep, my M50i is brand new. V8 sounds throaty but no gurgles or pops. Kinda bummed about that. Will have to test out sport mode once she’s broken in, not sure if that will make a difference or not.

Everyone has their own interpretation of "good." The 21s sound throaty. I dont mind the omission of too many "burbles" or "pops." I associate overdoing it with someone buying a 10 year old BMW for $5k and trying to make it stand out.

I've tuned my last 3 BMWs with downpipes and never selected a burble option so not to sound like a 17 year old. There is a difference between loud and good, which many civic owners or non-enthusiasts cant tell a difference from.

The 21 X5s sound fantastic when you get on it and quiet enough when you want quietness. Perfect mix of knowing you have a V8 and knowing you have a luxury car while still retaining some pops and bangs without overdoing it.

But I wouldnt expect someone who doesn't have a V8 to know that

My biggest complaint is that they managed to change the sound via the latest software upgrade and didn't announce in the release notes. My June 2020 sounded much better before the upgrade.

From what I understand, the newest software update removed all the pops and burbles from the M50i.

I have the 40i with the "sport" exhaust option and it sounds like shit compared to the 340i sport exhaust my friend has.

Good to know. Another reason to not allow updates unless absolutely required.

I now own a '20 M50i, but my previous ride was an US SUV, family, dog and toy hauler. When I first got the POS and took it down to the muffler shop to get a quote, the owner looked at me and said, "Why would you want to make a $70k SUV sound like a high schooler's hot rod?" Well, my M50i cost a little more than that, and it sounds great as is, altho the piped in shit is pretty cheesy and I turn it off from time to time. And when I recently started it up in sports plus to show off to a buddy, I'm pretty sure I heard some bubbles and pops. Altho I do notice it less while driving. And I got the latest update, so...

Yeah, I am fairly happy with the sound for what it is. For the reference, these are my last two BMW V8s and I don't feel a big difference in sound. The 550i even had downpipes at the time of filming.

Is this a US spec car that's stock?

My M50 is on order. Love how that sounds.
