I just tried and it does show my exact car in the iPhone widget! That’s something I hadn’t tried before.

umzzy i see that you’ve posted two photos above, one with the car picture ans one without. Where are those from? It looks like sometimes your app shows the car picture and sometimes it shows the cloked car?

Edit: one of the widgets still shows car under covers. No idea wants doing on.

mojoJJ The car that shows up in the app is some random one I added from a dealership that had a similar build.

My actual car shows up under the cloth. And the widgets do the same for me.. the larger one won't show my car but the smaller one does.

I just tried the widget thing and it works for me too.

Do you guys have another vehicle on it and are you the primary user on all vehicles?

My wife is the primary user on the X5 and for her the car shows up perfectly. My M3 also shows fine and it is Beooklyn Grey Metallic as well.

The Genius agent at the Performance Center mentioned that it may also be related to the permissions competing with each other or something like that.

I'm the primary on the X5 and I've had this issue since I picked it up. My wife just got her X3 and it shows up fine on my app and hers too

Ok so BMW finally responded to my ticket after a month! The response is slightly different from what M3Noob got. I’ll try it today.

These instructions seem to be BS. No way the iOS app pulls the car image from the car iDrive! That would be dumb design.

A few days ago the app updated on my iPhone and now the widget doesn't show the car. Called BMW and they told me that since this is a known issue there isn't a timeframe they can give for the fix. He told me my app should work fine otherwise but you just can't see the car picture. So basically told me to stop complaining lol

Has anyone heard anything new on this issue? Still show a sedan with cover on it on iPhone app after getting my 24 x5 40i with M Sport pro (even in the widgets). Thank you.

I got an email from BMW Assist yesterday saying the following:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, please note BMW Germany is already aware of the issue and they're still working on it."

Also the widget works today. And some parts of the app show the car.

It finally works! Still partially through, some pages still show car under covers. But this gives me hopes that it will be fixed soon.

Main page showing now. At this point, it is a matter of their cache or CDN images getting updated but they seem to have fixed the issue on the serverside.

As of this morning, my car is appearing correctly in the My BMW app and widget. Finally!

A different question if anyone knows (maybe a different thread). But the graphics of my car in iDrive8 is also wrong. It the right color, but wheels are wrong and the grille. I have M Sport Pro package - black grille, but it shows chrome grille. Interesting on the app it shows correct car.

In iDrive 8, my car appears Skyscraper Grey (instead of Brooklyn Grey) with wrong wheels and silver grill. I don’t think it’s supposed to represent your exact build.

Same issue exist in iDrive 8.5. Maybe we need a few of us to contact the Genius line and make a case to escalate

So my friend has 23' G05 with iDrive 7 and his one shows correct car in the iDrive (correct color, correct wheels, and correct grill)...I guess this is all not a big deal, but for some reason still want it to appear correctly

I upgraded to iOS 17.1 on iPhone 12 pro max and the car is back under wraps again lol.
