Acceptable scratches/dents on the rim of a new OEM wheel?

I just received a set of new OEM wheels. Pretty much all of them have some type of scratch or dent on the rim. (Photos below.)

Are these okay? Or would you think they are damaged?

that's not a new wheel...u can spot some rubber from tire assembly:mount:dismount at some point. it's zoomed in so hard to gauge but missing metal and looks like there was fresh paint to mask it. regardless, the defects are pretty much there and it's clearly not -new-\

Private sale or from a -dealer-

From a dealer.

I suspect 1 isn't new because it was packed differently.

The other 3 came in boxes from the "BMW warehouse" (based on the stickers on them). If those boxes had been opened before, somebody did a really good job of carefully opening them and resealing.

Pickup or Delivery. If delivery, do wanna point out that the boxes are really really really , um, ahem really thin. Can barely support the wheel and will flex. IME, if improperly handled (not like your 1st pic) but the wheel lips can be potentially clear chipped etc if the boxes are not handled with extreme care. It's very tell tale if you look at the other boxes and see if the cardboard wall has been -creased-. I would check the other 3 as well

Good luck. It's pretty obvious it's not -new-

That is not new condition. Do not mount a tire on that. Return and exchange.

Definitely would process and exchange or return on those. Brand new OEM wheels should not arrive looking like that. Either a poor job packaging for shipping or they sold used wheels as new (or a combo of both!).

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Really appreciate it.

3 of the wheels were double boxed. While it certainly wasn't good enough to survive UPS's handling of them, they did try. (Though perhaps not that hard.)

Now that I've taken another look at them in the morning, I'm inclined to believe that 2 of them may be manufacturing defects.

Should have just bought the wheels from a local dealer.

In case anyone is wondering: dealer replaced the wheels and the new ones are good.
