Did I just get scammed by "upgrading" to software version 7/2021?
Before the software update, my car no matter what, had the ASS button on disable.
Now after the update, I can have ASS disabled, go into M1 or M2 mode, have my fun, go back to comfort mode and ASS is now enabled. W T F... Anyone else seeing this with 7/2021? Did my install get botched or is this a new "feature" BMW put in this software. If so, im going back to my dealer to downgrade. |

I believe ASS function memory default is inactive but you can code it active and it will remember the state when you go back to comfort mode

I never once coded my car and my ASS always remembered before this update. The M cars have always had ASS memory as opposed to M50 and 40i. |

So I normally run my setup with ASS on, but in any case, I'll be glad to test this out as I'm about to run the upgrade later tonight/early tomorrow.
What baseline settings should I code pre-upgrade? Turn off ASS, presumably? |

Yes, turn ASS off and see if it remembers the setting after a few restarts.

Edit - I take this back. Behavior has now changed. After I toggle off my M1/2 preset, it is always now deactivating ASS. |

Now it stays off with any behavior, M1 toggle, M2 toggle, fresh start, etc... So, so strange. |

Boy, maybe I should be glad my car hasn't received the 07/2021 update.
I've read where people who do have it also haven't really noticed any improvements in ID7. |

Here's something new (or at least I'm only just noticing it). M2, and only M2, now has an option for a double press to confirm and switch into 4WDS mode.
This new? Edit: nvm - realized the update just changed my M defaults. Wtf - who changes the DSC default to MDM… definitely was DSC on pre-update. |
