BMW has no clue what their signature design is. They are lost and with their last current design changes and none has gone over well. The more radical the design change, the more unsuccessful it is. For example, 4 of the new 760i have been sitting for months and my dealer can’t give them away even now with a heavy discount off msrp. That’s the kiss of death for a completely new vehicle with all its release hype. The 4 series was the same when it was released. Just sat there on the lot with no takers.
The new X5M has got to find a way to fix its stance by lowering it. The wheel/tire gap is way too high and needs a higher end air suspension like it’s competition uses. The air suspension would also greatly improve its ride quality and versatility. It’s just a way more expensive system that BMW should be using at this level of vehicle. The ironic part is that they designed these new vehicles for Chinese market and "tastes" yet sales dropped over 20% in that market in '22. Brilliant strategy alienating your core customers only to fail at gaining your new target.

Those wheels add zero value to the looks!,...and ditto for the area where the Chin Spoiler meets in the middle!!
Who is in charge of this stuff? They need to get out more to car event and get a real education in automotive aftermarket styling! I'm one to believe that the wheels should Contrast against the overall style of the vehicle,...and not the wheel's design to get lost in the shadows!

I don’t get that moustache thingy in the front. Looking at the x5 as my next car but sorry to say, that black part would make me go for the “old” version. Is there a way to delete the option but keep the M styling?

The car is nice, love the interior, don’t mind the lights (but prefer the pre LCI) |

You could always go to a shop that specializes in wraping cars and make it white or take it off and have it painted.

I recall BMW offered the shadowline package on some standard models in years past, like the F10 5-series. Perhaps an xLine with black trim and the adaptive suspension will be a good compromise. It's not like the X5 M Sport drives differently, compared to models like the 3-series that have an M Sport specific suspension.

“Higher end” air suspensions introduce more complexity and failure prone systems. True M does not need air suspension, those buyers that need “ride quality” need a non M vehicle. |

My 2013 M5 was so ridiculously firm in Sports+ it felt like it was going airborne. I think if anything BMW has gone too far in terms of handling sometimes on the bigger models but again at least in terms of the costing of the X5/X6M that isn't the reason. |

All these comments bout the firm ride of the true M variants had me leaning towards a GLE 63... until I test drove a X5MC.
No idea what people are complaining about. Felt great to me. Soft enough that bumps didnt cause actual discomfort but firm enough so that I could actually feel the bump (and the road in general). For drivers familiar with Brooklyn, NY, I purposely stayed in the left most lane of Bay Parkway during my test drive too. Drove over storm drain after storm drain. Normally headache, back ache, body ache inducing with my BRZ but felt fine in the X5MC. |

And all the newest cars, X5 LCI included, are getting glossy black plastic haptic buttons with no travel (for what few buttons remain) and shoving everything else into infotainment that looks tacked on as an afterthought. As well as losing the dashboard cover basically so it’s just steering wheel with screen. |
