That is interesting as with iD7 OTAs wipe out all coding including Anti-Dazzle. Total PIA as Anti-Dazzle requires Esys vs the trivial stuff that can be done via Bimmercode.

I know what you mean. On my '21 X3 I loathed having the dealership do an update because it'd wipe Anti-Dazzle each time. Haven't had any issues with it, so haven’t had it updated.

07/2022, 11/2022, and now 03/2023 have all installed successfully without issue. And each of those would of course wipe all my coding, except Anti-Dazzle. Though some people's have commented that if a module isn't updated in the OTA any coding in that module won't be wiped.

As a FYI attached is what the tech provided my SA when I had a stuck OTA on the iD7 in my 2020 M850i. Up until that point a couple of OTAs were successful. I also had the dealer install the latest vs waiting 6 months for the OTA post facto to be released when there were features I wanted ASAP.

What is interesting is the supposed fault with the preconditions not being met is the hazard lights. I laughed when my SA showed me the print out and explained that in 3.5 years of ownership I've never used the hazard lights once. So obviously a bug in the OTA software preconditions check.

if you have iPhone, did you enable Local Network? not enabling it seems to be the hang-up for many with iPhones (dunno about Androids)

That's critical to getting it from the iPhone INTO the vehicle, but once there, it should not matter.

I started my update 4 days back. But this is what I see in my display. See attached screen captures. Based on this it looks like the transfer from phone to car is not happening. Anyone in the same boat?

Local network is enabled for my car app in my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Sitting at BMW getting the sunroof recall update done. I asked if they could push the software to install…it’s been loaded for days, but like all the other OTAs will not install. He said they have been told there is a big update coming in the next month that “is supposed to actually install unlike all these other OTAs”. He said they have updated software recently and gotten grief from corporate.

any Comfort Access features stop working? one guy is reporting his doors no longer unlock when approaching even though he enabled the setting.

EDIT: another setting he enabled affected the behavior he wanted, so there's no 07/2023 Comfort Access bug...

Never received a recall letter for this.
There are no outstanding safety and emission recalls when checking on bmwusa.com

That is from April of last year. They had to update your software since that is the remedy for the recall.

Any vehicles that were affected had the letters sent out in June of 22.

I checked data privacy and changed it to all services. Still no luck.

I'm on 2021 software. I want to upgrade for the improved self driving/lane keep. But looks like I have to go to a dealer... man BMW is falling so far behind its rivals in every way.
