2024 preowned x5 50e

Hi Friends,

I am planning to buy preowned x5 50e with 1312 miles. The BMW dealership is offering for 77K and it has all the packages & original MSRP $89500?

When I checked with dealership, warranty expires 05/2027 and 3 years free service maintenance will not carry forward to second owner.

I am not sure what are the cons in this deal? it is costing almost 12% less than the original cost.

Please advise.

I won't get it. Its pretty common to get 5-8% off MSRP these days for a new vehicle. You are also losing the 3-year maintenance as well. You can stretch your budget and get a new one for ~83K (out the door price) with premum package+DAP+Parking Assist+comfort package and few other accessories.

Get a discount on a new 50e and be done with it.

My math says it's 14% off MSRP. Insist they throw in 3 years maintenance and it's a good deal. Get a detailed copy of it's service record. Was it a demo or did the original buyer simply not like it? Perform proper due diligence.

Did the dealer tell you the history of the car? they should tell you what the maintenance and repair records show.

Yes, I looked at the Carfax and it is with BMW dealerships for all the time. There is no other person record. Car looks very good.

Hard pass on what has obviously been a demo/loaner/beater.

Also, run the numbers based on the number of years you expect to own it compared to buying new. It's a used car = higher interest rate. No maintenance = maintenance costs. Etc, etc.

YES, good suggestion. I have calculated it. I feel like spending more than 10k on new car vs save 10K on preowned now and spend money on service maintenance when needed.

Are you sure about this? I think 3 year of included maintenance follows the car, not the 1st owner.

Work a reasonable deal on a brand new 50e vs the used one that has likely had many different drivers and you will get what you pay for.
A used car is NOT a new car regarless of model year.

You are correct, I bought my '22 used and the free maintenance definitely carries over. It's even listed in the My BMW app.

free maintenance is non-transferable as per the above.

I have slightly different tske than most. 77k in a MSPR 89500 car ks 14% off, not small. And only 13xx miles. So it is practically new. If spec and color match, I will strongly consider. And make sure still negotiate, possibly get a few lot $k off.

As to maintenance, you really don’t get much. Just 3 oil change abs 1 brake fluid. I would say $150/oil change and $200/ brake fluid flush. Today worth $650ish. If you DIY, cost will be half. I won’t let this get into my decision

Interesting, my dealer honors it and it transferred to me without any troubles in the app.

I have a 2024 X5 e50 waiting for my build that I ordered. I got 8% off plus I'll get 4k military discount which was 13% off the MSRP. I'd buy new given the small price difference for me.

With so little time and miles my spidey senses are tingling. Is this BMW Certified Pre-Owned and if not why? I see BMW no longer transfers warranty. The cost of 3 years complete service plus any other issue is not insignificant. Personally I would pass and buy new and I suspect you will get a better deal and better financing? Good luck
