Yup. Allocations for April production were released a couple of weeks ago.

Welcome to the forum. As mentioned, allocations were issued a few weeks ago but you didn't mention which X5 you are ordering. The 50e production is still limited as they are trying to catch up on previous orders so it may take another couple of months until the 50e allocations are back to normal. The M60i was also limited at the end of MY24 but have not heard about that being the case for MY25. The 40i allocations should be fairly plentiful.

You should have no problem getting an allocation and an April delivery.

As others have mentioned, allocations were released a few weeks back. Got my 2025 SDrive40i on order with allocation for week 14 build.

Noticed in My Garage today that
My 2025 40i X6 ‘picture’
has an added M badge
On the front quarter panels.
I didn’t notice these on the 2024 40i

When would the online configurator open? Are folks ordering via a dealer in person?

Historically it has changed about 2 - 4 weeks into the new model year to give the dealers time to move previous MY inventory. Last year with inventory down it was before the new MY started.

You always have to order via dealer. You can use the pricing guides and spec your vehicle and then get quotes from various dealers.

So I have a March 24 apparent production for my 50e. Had the "order locked" confirmation a couple of weeks ago. Still awaiting the "in production" email. Turtleboy, are you saying that there seems to still be a wait on the production run for 50e regardless of pre-production status?

Was looking at a mid June arrival at Dealer. No rush here really and would kind of prefer a MY25.

I ordered MY24 back in late December with expected build week 12. About a month ago when the MY25 production details came out, I called my dealer and pushed my order back to a MY25 (this was before MY24 were being converted to MY25 by BMW due to delays). Received a call from my salesman last week that I’m scheduled for a week 19 build for my MY25. Super pumped and can’t wait!

They are probably using your original order since only a few MY25 allocations were issued. Is it the same production number?

So if I go to the dealer to submit a custom order today, it's pretty much guaranteed that I'm getting MY 2025?

It all depends on what trim you are getting. If you want a 40i and your dealer still has a MY24 build they can alter you can take that. If you want a MY25 then if they have an allocation you can get that. It all depends on what MY you want.

I want MY25. Is it possible that the dealer refuses to give me the 25 because he has unused allocations for 24?

No, they won't do that. They may ask if you want it but you can order the MY25 if that is what you want. Just make sure you go in with your My25 build details and you should be set.

Any differences from MY24 and MY25 besides pricing?

Starting the process of getting an X5 40i (first time with BMW). I was hoping to get a deal on a 2024 model, but none available in our area fit what we want, so would have to order unless something appears. Dealer told me that he has "lots" of allocations starting end of April for MY25. Notes that there aren't incentives yet on the 2025 as they are all directed towards the 2024's. (quoted 3.99% financing which I think is marked up from the 2.99% BMW finance is quoting)

Any advice? Is it ok to shop the build code to different dealers to see if they can provide a discount on a MY25 or should we wait until end of the month? I'm sure there is regional variation.

re: MY25 differences only thing I've heard is that lane changing with the DAP was added.

The 552 headlights that were optional are standard and lane change by eye is now part of DAP.
