Those wrinkles are quite minor, looks through this topic and you will see wrinkles that leave indentations in your back.

I know. I have been following the topic. They are minor. They wouldn't bother me if it was my car and shouldn't bother the new owner. But it I just wouldn't call it wrinkle free.

Man, you're up early! BMW called them "comfort pleats" or something like that. I called them a chiropractic visit

Picked up my Week 15 produced X5 45e 2 weeks ago, I had to hold my breath before I opened the door during pickup inspection, was so glad my car didn't have any of that wrinkled shenanigans

Ok, thanks. Well, if you don't like the disproportionate wrinkly look, you lucked out and got a good one! I'm interested in seeing what the 2021 back seats look like because as we know, the 2019 and 2020's where hit-n-miss and I'm wondering if by some chance, BMW came to grips with their quality in terms of this. I mean, heck, they took away some of our favorite options so the least they can do is give us consistent quality rear seat backs

You mean changed the design for the new MY due to customer preference.

Mine were subtle at PCD delivery but once you adjust the head restraint manual side extensions, the leather is going to wrinkle over time. If you leave the side extensions in it's default position, the leather shouldn't wrinkle much over time.

Found another one. But the back rests look great! Still good looking seats. And I would still consider them backrest wrinkle free.

Hey, this is a rear seat topic, you need to create your own topic for headrests

Here is how my 21 looks like. I don't really pay much attention to the wrinkles but I always think it's there for "comfort" reason.
Wrinkle or not, I do have a problem with the lumbar support. I feel it is too much even when at the lowest setting. Or is it my back that is the problem?

I couldn't tell which seat that was, was it the rear? Assuming it was and both rear seats look like that, it looks great! Is that Cognac or Tartufo? Thanks for posting!

In terms of the lumbar, just like buying a new mattress, it will take you a few weeks to get used to it so give it some time and be sure you are deflating all the air bags all the way.

I saw your "complaint" about not discussing the rear seats so I made sure it's a rear seat. Both look the same. I didn't look at the front seats though. Yes, it's Cognac. I will give the lumbar support (or my back) some time to see. Can you explain "be sure you are deflating all the air bags all the way" a bit more?

Well, I was joking with LexxM3 about the headrest The seat uses air bladders (bags) that when inflated, create the bulge in your lumbar area that pushes against your back. I think Auricom has a diagram of what the inside of the Multi-contour seats look like. There's a lot going on inside those seats, especially yours that have cooling. Anyway, I mean it works like most other cars to increase/decrease and move up/down the lumbar bulge so I was just saying to be sure when you think you have the lumbar all the way retracted, keep your finger on the button a bit longer just to be sure the air bag is fully deflated. You've probably already played with this so maybe its a matter of adjusting the seat back and tilt function of the seat bottom in conjunction with the lumbar to find the sweet spot for you. I know for me, 99% of the cars out there just don't seem to put the air bag in the right place for me but after a while, I find the sweet spot and it works.

I got IvoryW/NB Merino on 1 month old car.
A few of my fat-ass kids could’ve been sitting there…but i don’t see anything troubling.
Cellulite -free i would say.
