2019 x5 40i 40,000mile service

My car has hit 40,000. Its driven in the city. Just did the brakes and brake fluid. Engine oil isnt due yet.

Are there services and things to look out for or are recommended on an x5.
I can hear a few rattles under the car.

Did you change the spark plugs at 30k?

Does v6 spark plug needs to be changed at such a short interval? I was under the impression that it would be at ~60k miles?

I don't think that's normally replaced at such low mileage.

I have similar mileage and it's all based on inspection and what's needed. There are no exact things you have to replace at certain mileage.

You may be right. Just had a 60k done a few months ago on my F36. It was still under the maintenance plan and the dealer changed the plugs. I was thinking the 30k and 60k were similar services.

Transmission techs are now saying 40-45k on the filter, clean magnets, top off fluid with the BMW type.

What? Transmission under normal circumstances need a fluid change around 60K. Under crazy driving (high heat scenarios) as soon as 45K, but generally around 50K miles.

Transmissions have changed, costs to repair have changed.
If possible, find a booked out top notch transmission mechanic and ask him like I did. Remember that the biggest part of this is the inspection while replacing the filter. Also, you never want a transmission flush unless it's done by yourself with a new/clean machine so replacing a few quarts at intervals keeps the overall fluid in a better condition.

What are you talking about?

I am talking about the ZF we have in our cars. The same ZF in my F30. ZF recommends the intervals I just mentioned. Also the transmission pan has the filter built in. Also you DO NOT flush these boxes. You replace the fluid. I am not sure what sorta mechanic you are talking to, but most people cannot work on these unless they are very specialized. I also have 162K in my F30 with a ZF.

Not telling me anything that I didn't know or have already posted. Change filter at 60k is better than nothing. No, you can't drain all the oil. You can do the transmission service yourself. I've done several.
