2020 X5 Air Struts
Dealer confirmed front air strut is making a squeaky noise when cold. They will replace the left side strut and see. I asked if both left and right should be replaced at the same time. They indicated it's not required. I am a bit surprise for moving parts only one side will be replaced.
Can anyone point me to the repair manual or some documentations indicate both sides should be replaced at once? It can be an earlier year model, too. Thank you for your help! |

Less than 50k miles or so the one they didn't change should still be functioning properly. I wouldn't worry about it. You got lucky that they did anything. My dealer acts like nothing can be wrong if no codes present.

It's hard to ignore the squeaky noise. The failure started a 9k miles. Car is not driven much because of the pandemic for 3 years. Only took 5 visits for them to finally hear the squeaky noise.
