Let me know if you notice a difference....
I will say yes, the car feels more responsive and the gas pedal map is way more sensitive, love it

Just and FYI but there's an issue that a lot of ppl have had with the M layout in that it doesn't display the drive mode you're on, and I don't think you can get a logo on the top of the screen. It seems the coding for that layout is "incomplete", IMO.

Nice thanks. Any issues with the drive mode not properly displaying as mentioned by VTENGR?

Yes. They don't display in the M-dash like they do in the M5, which is the current model that uses this digital dash from the factory. Google the new M5 and you will see what it should look like.

Despite the different engine and transmission in the M5, the drive modes should in theory be able to be seen, just like the M5 - specifically the steering setting, engine setting and suspension setting. But if it can be done, no one has found the coding parameters to do it yet. You can also add the red line to the tach as well (not shown in the above pic). It won't be correct for your engine, unless you have the N63 engine, but it looks better with the red line than none at all IMO.

But it is just a display issue in the digital dash. The drive mode functionality is unaffected...

Edit: Here is what the stock M5 Competition dash looks like (and what I think most of us would like to have as far as displaying drive modes if coding the M dash):

This may be a dumb question, but I presume I need to purchase the full version of the app @ $32 to program? It wasn’t clear since it was free to download.

So basically, regardless of what drive mode your in, the colors remain the same correct? Without coding the instrument cluster changes colors between Comfort, Sport, and Economy.

I do like being able to quickly glance at the instrument cluster and tell what drive mode I'm in just by looking at the color of the display. However, I really love that blue in the Alpina!

Yeah it does not show what mode you're in, but it doesn't really bother me. I usually remember and can tell what mode I'm in from the actual driving response/feedback.

Actually, there is a very subtle difference in the M-dash when you cycle through the different drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport & Adaptive. But you will only notice it if you quickly cycle through them while watching the dash closely. When in sport mode, the bottom left and right of the main dash area will have a small red shaded area. This is difficult to notice at first, but if you cycle through the modes a few times in quick succession, you will see it. Based on the pictures I have seen, the Alpina dash should display the drive mode just like the standard dash does. The lack of seeing the drive mode does not really bother me either as I also have my car coded to start in Sport Individual mode, which is the mode I use 99% of the time.

The pic below is my dash coded with the M-dash and a few other elements displayed, including the Assisted Driving mode, SiriusXM and red/yellow RPM limit line displayed in the dash (my car is in Sport Mode)...

To be able to have it display cars in the lane next to you like the above, is that a software update or something that can be coded?

That's called ADV (Assisted Driving View). See video:
If your G05 is MY2019 with the necessary options (5AU and ISTEP 07/2019.xx or later), you need to code to get ADV, but it can now be done with Bimmercode in expert mode:

DKOMBI
- CB_FZG_UMGEBUNG_FAS -> Aktiv
- PIA_FZG_UMGEBUNG_FAS -> Aktiv
- SICHT_ABSICHT_ENABLE -> Aktiv

In my case, my car has this option from the factory. But if your car has the necessary hardware installed, it can be coded on.
