I also called the dealer to check, our sales woman said the car was yesterday in status 165 (or was it 163?), but she couldn’t check as the system was down (always when I call her ). Another salesman told the same 3 weeks ago. I don’t get it . The production date on the VIN details show 25/10. Is that the date the car was finished?

A car carrier that left Charleston 8 days after the VIN date, entered Zeebrugge on 25/10. But that is just me guessing. I do not know for sure if my car was actually on that specific vessel. |

Sales rep was wrong. I called again today and the car is in Zeebrugge (as I thought). So in 2 weeks time at the dealer. Then we can drool at it until January

So your status code changed? I have just called and mine is still on 165 (but I hope it is also in Zeebrugge) However, mine was on 22/10 already finished production (status 155) so would be strange that mine is not in zeebrugge yet |

I wish we had a tracking website. I'm calling the dealer every week to receive the same answer. It's stuck in code 150 since the 15th. Production should be finished week 49 and delivery week 3/2020. So far it adds up. Given the useful info from you guys and the rest of the forum I calculated there should be 3 ships who are capable of getting the car at the dealer ready for delivery in time
One more question: My dealer told me he had to request the VIN to BMW Belgium. How long did it take for you to receive this info? |

hi
I discretely asked my sales rep I had a lunch with him and contact is quite informal (he is sending me screenshots of the status via whatsapp ) It is really important indeed to ask for the status code and for the last date status. The status is not always up to date, it's indeed sad that the tracking is not set-up as in the US.. Good luck! Quote:

I called the dealer today and it's in status code 198. according to this link it means it's arrived at the dealer (the person I had on the phone wasn't aware, he just kindly looked up the code). So that would be from Zeebrugge to dealership in a week (which is nowhere near to the 6 weeks I was told ). They did promise they'd try to expedite the delivery so it looks like they are keeping their word. Nothing but great support from this dealer until now. Now I hope the wrapping and coating can also be pushed forward so I'm expecting a 2nd-3rd week of January Delivery. Maybe they are pushing for the BMW VIP event early January but that's me dreaming probably |

What's with the new VIN numbers? I got a VIN WBATA610509Dxxxxx older VIN's from 45e's and other G05's were WBATA61080LZxxxxx.
With on the 11th position L meaning assembly plant Spartanburg. So what's the 9 on position 11? |

If I consult websites that explain BMW VIN numbers I can match the old VIN but not that new VIN number with the 9 on position 11. I can't find what the 9 means. A 45e with production in August 2019 had this VIN WBATA61080LZxxxxx. Position 10 is 0 meaning the year. WBATA610509Dxxxxx has also 0 in position 10 and is produced in 2020. D would mean Dingolfing on position 11. I can't also fully decode my vin on mdecoder (I can only see it's X5 45e nothing else) and a US forum member who's car is also in production right now and with the same status can fully decode his VIN on mdecoder (complete car specs and option list). Strange |

Production date was 12 nov 2019. It was delivered to me 23/12. But is was in Zeebrugge already 2 weeks earlier. So a slightly shorter delivery time in normal times should be possible. The engine is XB1. Displacement 0. Total power 394. So those are the combined electric and fuel numbers. |
