Ordered Dec 13, allocation received Jan 14, currently "in production" but no actual production date as of yet. So far all in line with timeframe set by dealer at signing. He had anticipated a mid/late Jan allocation, build by mid/late Feb and PCD late Feb/early March.

Ordered 12/27, received allocation early January and VIN last week. Now in “Production Begins” with estimated completion date of 1/25.
I’m not sure if having access to all this information is helpful. It doesn’t speed up the process and fixates us on checking hourly if we’ve moved a dot on the MyGarage site. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. |

It is worse than that. I check the MyGarage site constantly AND call the 800 number knowing full well the information on both is the same..
Waste of time but oddly part of the fun. Mine has been stuck at "Order Received" since last week in December. |

Do you know if your dealer has an allocation for your order?

The 1 800 number is better than MyGarage. At least if you talk to a person they will give you the satus code (112, 150, 151, etc) and the anticipated build week. If you're at the production begins status, they could even give you a build date. I called every Friday for 3 months! To my surprise, my build date got moved up 5 days leading up to my production week. My car was done a week early based on their initial production week given to me.

I have only used the automated system and am not sure if dealer has an allocation--I will ask. Car must be in pretty good demand if folks are grappling over allocation. I've been buying / tracking these cars for a long time and can't remember an order for a car already in production sitting at the "Order Received" stage for so long.
Hoping to get the car by April ... |

The operators on the genius line are helpful and sometimes they have more detailed information. Besides I understand what their saying better than the automated line. |

Ordered Jan 16, 2020.
Entered "Production Scheduled" on Jan 20, 2020. Entered "Production Begins" stage on Jan 24, 2020. Called 800 number and was informed that scheduled completion date is Feb 7. Hope to get the vehicle by Feb 20 or so. Pretty straight forward build: Arctic over Merino Ivory Ext, Fineline, 742M wheels, Prem, Park Ass, Ltr Dash, Anth Headliner, Shadowline, Heat/Cooled 1/2 row, 2nd Row Shades, Acoustic glass, ICON lights, glass controls Update 2/5/20: Checked this morning and status changed to "Quality check". It jumped from "Production Begins" to QC over the weekend. Some others have mentioned that updates may jump over stages, but that's a pretty big jump... So, should be completed by the Feb 7 date that was given on my phone status check on Jan 24. Update v.2 (2/5/20): Checked this afternoon and the status has changed to "Awaiting carrier assignment". Skipped over "Final Assembly" and "Ready for Transport" stages. Wow. Update v.3 (2/12/20): Car was delivered to dealer on 2/10/20. I received a call from the dealer yesterday indicating that it was prepped and detailed, ready for pick up. Last edited by BMWDude2018; 02-12-2020 at 02:46 PM.. |

In Canada, we can't track the status by ourselves. So after paying my deposit and signed all paper work last Friday, I just close my eyes and wait now. I do however, daydream about when I am picking her up when I got a minute here and there.

ordered this M50i december 4th, finally got a production number january 16th, and then the build tracker has been stuck on the first little notch ever since at 0% progress.
Do you guys think that the stop sale for other 50i powered vehicles (m5, x5/6m) is whats causing the delay for the g05 m50i orders even though they weren't included? |

There's no stop sale
Mine got released to carrier yesterday It gets stuck on order received and also gets stuck on production begins. Once it passes that then it warp speeds in 2 days to the end. |
