Did you see the $1000 BMW credit available? There are several dealers in your area that are participating. Offer expires Saturday, 1/25.
Hey thanks. Yes I see the various credits etc. I actually ended up buying one in California and shipping it in. After the ocean freight I still saved a few thousand. Nowhere near 10-12% but cheaper than buying locally.

How does the buying from outside of home state work? Do we end up with license registration taxes from the purchasing state and are they acceptable in your home state? Or next year when we have to do the registration do you end up paying more?

Also is shipping all your responsibility? Or the dealer in the state you purchased does a home delivery so to speak. ?

I just feel that If we have any questions or any issues there is really nothing much the out of state dealer can do.
Just asking. Thanks.

I haven't done but most dealers know how to manage.

1. You pay transportation cost from dealer to your location or pick up yourself from dealer.

2. You pay tax and registration in your state when you register there within certain time (ie 30 days).

It's not overly difficult or complex.

Okay here it is. I'm suppose to pick up my2020 X5M50i Tuesday but I've been seeing many stories on here about issues with the X5M50i I'm starting to wonder if I'm making the best decision here. The main reason is I'm buying out of state and if I start to have issues will the local dealer take care of it like I purchased it from them. If I now I have a 95K car and don't get the service I would get by buying local then I'm in a very bad postion. The local dealer won't discount anywhere near what I'm getting but after reading so many posts about issues and vehicles being in the shop for days I'm beginning to question buying out of state.

I picked my M50i up this week out of state. Local dealer could care less. My last BMW was also out of state. Still great service and loaners. Also - the car is fantastic. It's stunning, a great drive and everything works.

service dept. could care less where you bought the car from. i've purchased multiple cars out of state or purchased locally but serviced at another dealer. once you're there the first time, and they switch license plate frames to "their" dealership, they won't care anymore. trust me, they'd be thrilled to have the service revenue.

Why would Ilet them put their plate holder on my car? I already purchased a car from them 2018 X5 after three weeks the car had a bed trans, then the put a new one in then when I picked it up there was a dent in the hood. I went ape shit and after that they did a trade assist. the gm was cold to me everytime i went in for service. So I'm not confident they will treat me right.

Curious, what issues are you hearing about the X5 M50i? I have not heard anything except the occasional wrinkly rear seats. Everyone who has taken delivery recently appears to be very happy.

I do care as I have one entering production now.

Read the forum. You will see. Of course every model is not perfect and you can expect issues poping up my concern is getting proper service from this dealer.

I have read the forum - been here alot longer than you LOL.
Have not seen anything about issues with the M50i.
I bought my 650i M edition coupe from one BMW dealer, service at my local one, no issues.
