https://www.bmwblog.com/2018/09/12/f...he-new-bmw-x5/

If you click on that link, it specifically says, "A control panel in the cargo area can be used to slide the second-row seats forwards or backwards and fold down the backrests
of the second and third rows. The second-row seats can be tilted forward electrically to ease entry/exit into and out of the two third-row seats"

Also, if you watch the YouTube clip on that post, at the very end of the clip you can see the passenger side rear seat recline back.

I'd love for this to be true, but until someone personally confirms this first hand, it's all speculation based off of blogs and vids.

Yeah. I'm just not 100% sure. I have a vague recollection of this convo happening but it was awhile back. Maybe one of the CAs will chime in.

Many thanks for posing the updated Pricing Guide. I'm confused about the deleted rule regarding 1XB - Style 744 orbit grey 21" wheels. This guide seems to indicate that they are not available with ZMP, but I was unaware that they were to begin with. My week 46 40i xLine has these on my order. Hoping they don't get removed.

I noticed a mistake in the ordering guide in regards to the wheel sizes.

It lists the 741M wheels as 10" wide in the back. But the sticker on an actual X5 says 10.5".

Also, the guide says the 744 orbit grey wheels are 10" in back, but the 744 bi-color (which are the same wheels, just a different color) are 10.5" in back.

So, I'm pretty sure all the 21" and 22" wheel options are 10.5" in the back. The ordering guide has a couple typos!

This is not correct. I just ordered a 40i model with air suspension and M-Sport, but no third row seating. It's projected to be built the first week in December (third row seating isn't available until March).

Agreed. Just ordered a 40i model (non-M-Sport), with air suspension and no 3rd row. Nov build allocation.

Jason - Can you please update the start of this chain with the October 15 build/price guide? I think it would stop a lot of irrelevant questions/spin being asked in other threads if they had the most up to date guide. There's a link to it above from iiAtlas on 10-22-2018, 05:19 PM

Thanks!

Can someone help me out and take a look at these lease numbers?

I plan on trading my 2015 x5 xdrive35i. Not too happy about the trade in value, so any input on that would be appreciated too?

So if I read that right, they are giving you 28000 for your trade in and the payoff is 26,500 they are writing you a check for, so that leaves 1500 equity basically you are applying as a cap cost reduction - am I getting that right?

Is 78,020 MSRP and they are only giving you $1000 off which is basically the current promo they have running - is that correct? If so you appear to be paying MSRP then getting the promo and 1500 of cap cost reduction from your trade. You should be getting at least 5% off (I just did a deal and got 7% off MSPR, but lots of people are getting 3-5% off MSRP), so if you are paying MSPR less $1000 then it is a terrible deal.

Also you give no specs on either car, so hard to tell if you old car is worth more or not, but looking at online, you can buy 2015 X5's by the boat load for between 30 and 35k, so seems 28k on the trade is good, probably too good and that is why they are not discounting much.

Thank you for your input I am terrible at numbers and negotiating. This would be the 3rd bimmer from this particular dealership. Looks like I should shop around more.

Thank you.

Just walked out of the dealer and was offered a $3K discount plus incentives. Just tell them you want 5% off plus incentives and if they say no go to another dealer. Plenty of dealers around Houston so they will be competitive for your business. Don't be offended if they say no and don't believe them when they say it can't be done Just say thanks for the time and call me if you decide you want to do the deal. Also make sure you are getting buy rate on the lease as well. Looks to me like they have grossly inflated the money factor.

You will probably get a lot of variation on that, depends on total price and residual which varies a lot between 10k and 15k miles on a lease not to mention tax variations.

So on a 10k miles car with no options you are at 59% residual you are paying a total of 36k in depreciation+ taxes + interest.

On a 15k miles car loaded up to 85k you are paying 48k in depreciation + tax and interest.

So the difference in those 2 cars is probably with interest $450 a month in payment.

If you want to know what a lease will cost you, just use this https://www.calculator.net/auto-lease-calculator.html

Build a car on the configurator and get the price with destination. Then take that number and multiply by the residual number (residual is off MSRP and is .56 for 15k .58 for 12k and .59 for 10k lease). Put that in the residual value box. Take the MSPR and subtract the discount (3-7%) and put that in the price box, put in the term (normally 36 months), put in your down payment if any and your trade in, money factor currently is 0.00182 put that in and put in your states sales tax and calculate - then you can play with the numbers with discounts and down payments to figure out what you want for a payment.

The way I approach the dealer is with everything prepared, I know from this forum lots of people are getting decent discounts (FYI markup is about 7.5% + holdback, so 7% is about 500 over invoice if you want to think about it that way) which is a pretty skinny deal for them. So go in asking for what you want, say it is 5%, bring all the numbers, total build with options, be prepared as that indicates you are ready to buy (and be ready to buy if they give you what you want as they will know if you are tire kicking). Show them the MSRP you built online with all options, what the price is with the discount you want, what the current money factor is and that you will not pay a markup on the money factor and then on top of that tell them you want to apply any current discounts or promos on top of that (like the 1k current customer promotion). See what they offer and it should be close to the calculator - if it isn't ask to see their numbers to see if they are playing any games - money factor is the usual game if they give you the percentage off, they use the money factor mark up to claw back the discount. Most importantly don't play the what do you want to pay per month game because then they just hide everything from you and get you that number or close to it (and the + or - 50 bucks a month doesn't look like much but is a big difference on the backend)

This is great advice. Thanks. This approach works well even if you are buying instead of leasing.
