Hopefully they will be able to make it look much more presentable so you can take delivery and enjoy it. Good luck.

I resisted contributing to this thread... LOL
With the extended delivery time for ZAEI and having to extend my previous lease for 3 months, I wasn't about to decline PCD delivery over the condition of the rear seats. In all honesty, I very much like my wrinkly rear seats. It looks quite comfy and luxurious with the interior color combination. Given the fact that I lease, it wasn't a big deal one way or another. I was more concerned on getting a functioning X5 with no squeaks, rattles and or other gremlins.

I've got the same interior coming on my M50i. Production has started. We'll see how it looks. Given how long it took to get a allocation, hope wrinkles are not too bad. I would accept Auricom's.

The extent of your wrinkles look very similar to mine that I picked up recently. Looks great and enjoy. |

These are mine. Have my car for 2 months and because of this post I had a better look because I never look at the back.
When I looked a couple of weeks ago it seemed less wrinkly. Could it be that air moisture and temperature would change the wrinklyness? Now that I made a picture I must say it looks worse on picture than it is in real life. And I don't have a problem with it. If my kids sit in the back I don't see it and if they don't I don't look there anyway. |

Order for my car was placed Feb.2 picked up last Monday. Zero wrinkles on seat back of rear seat, and virtually nothing on seat bottom itself. if not for this thread i would say no wrinkles at all (and none on steering wheel LOL).
Black Merino with luxury seats for what it's worth. |

Every X5 with leather seats that I looked at had wrinkles in the leather. This isn't a defect. The seats are designed this way on purpose. I actually asked a dealer about this and talked with the General Sales Manager about it. He stated this was normal and that BMW even had a special meeting to address this. You can order 20 X5's and they will all have the same wrinkles. I would be more concerned with rattles and other issues.

That said, I agree with you and Turtleboy that the wrinkles are there by design but that's not the issue, the issue is the lack of consistency in how they are applied. Some are down right terrible while others are acceptable. Never seen such a wide disparity from a mass manufacturer before. So when you order a car, you're playing Russian Roulette. |

I think what you have there is exactly what they were hoping for when they set out to create them like that. Unfortunately many have gone beyond the intended "wrinkles" and were allowed to be released to customers. Hopefully what we have seen/heard in recent reports mean that they tightened controls in both the production and QC areas and what you have will become the norm going forward.

A note when I was at the BMW factory in Munich they didn't have wrinkles on those seats. Even though the seats they make are for 3 and 4 series!!! We need answers!!!
