Hoo nose, maybe they need a couple of days to iron out the wrinkles. |

Yes just talked to my CA. It's been there a couple days. Don't know if it has wrinkles. Will find out on Monday

Just got the message "VIN assigned" from my CA. How long for this to propagate through the system until I can add the car to ConnectedDrive or query it on the VIN decoder to see the spec? Right now I get an error saying "unable to verify VIN" but I assume that's because the system hasn't refreshed.

Good question. I don't know really. VIN's and such may be totally different in your country. But for me (in the US), I set mine up in "my bmw" using the Production Order Number. And that number I'd imagine is universal; the same in all countries.
If you don't have "my bmw" on the Canada BMW site maybe you could create an account on the www.bmwusa.com site and see if it works there. |

Thanks. I've registered for MyBMW on the Canadian website but now it states "An unexpected error has occurred. MyBMW is unavailable at this time". I will have to wait I think.

I wish I had noted the dates of each of the build milestones as I tracked the production process. Is there a way to reconstruct it?
My Garage has been telling me that my 40i has been in Oxnard for the last 4 or 5 days. I just asked my CA what the status was and she shared the bill of lading info that says it's still on it's way there, scheduled to arrive 3/5 (a week from today) via Norfolk Southern. About another week after that until it will be ready for me to pick up. |

When I call the automated line I get the message "Your vehicle is in transit, please contact your centre for more information" and have done for the past week or so. My CA still thinks the vehicle is in Production (153 Assembly Started) and he says I have at least 4 more weeks to wait for it to arrive in Vancouver, BC (Canada).
How come there is a difference in the status? I noticed on the ConnectedDrive app previously the VIN wasn't recognised but now it says "ConnectedDrive services not enabled". At what stage of production do they get activated? I've read others post about tracking the vehicle's locations during delivery. |

My order been showing "production begins" for a week. BMW says should finish production by March 7 but I don't see any updates and only 4 days left. Is it normal? How long does the actual production takes?

I'm in the same boat. Entered prod on 2/25, they say the production date is 3/8. Still says Production Begins. Is it going to skip all those other steps? I remember with my F10 it went through all the steps, this was the old tracking though.

Yea no idea but I'd think so. I have another VIN under my tracker (from a previous build that I changed later) with production complete date of 3/5 and still shows production begins. I'll keep you posted if anything changed for these two VINs.

My order with target completion of 3/5 shows entering assembly line today which is a few step jump from previous status of production begins.

I'm about to order my X5 40i (want to do it this week) and I'm not sure will I get it before my current lease contract expires (in 6 weeks)? My dealer very confident about it and he says there is no doubt and I will get the car before the lease expiration date.

I had mine in less than 4 weeks. 40i no third seat. If dealer has an immediate allocation shouldn't be an issue unless you are out west.

Yes you will get it by then if as others said your dealer has immediate allocation. 10mins after I placed the order they gave me order number which showed production begins a day later and in about two weeks Production completes and get shipped.
