Thanks to all of your help throughout the process, we finally placed an order for a 2020 X5 Xdrive40i and already received a PCD delivery date of 1/24.

Build is as follows:
M-Sport

Black Sapphire Metallic
Coffee Extended Merino
Anthracite Brown Poplar Matte Trim
Leather dashboard
Premium Package
Parking Assistance Package
Air Suspension
M Sport Brakes
Extended Shadowline Trim

Let me know if anyone else is scheduled for PCD on 1/24!

Update: due to dealer error, my re-order has now pushed me back to a PCD date of 2/28

Man... My car is scheduled to be completed today and I still don't have a PCD date set. Just know the earliest I can do it is 1/7.

I guess technically the 1/24 date isn't confirmed but they did offer it as the earliest date available to us and we did let them know we'd take it. Can they offer a date and then take it back if there are no production delays? Do you know how long it takes for them to confirm it?

I think if everything goes to plan your date is good. However a lot could happen between now and then. I shot a few emails to the PCD and they recommend not making any arrangements until you have an email confirmation from them and no more than 3 weeks out. My production actually got moved up a week. If it didn't fall in the PCD holiday dead zone I would have been able to pick it up a week earlier.

Wow, my car has "entered the assembly line" with an expected completion date of tomorrow. Looks like everything is on track for my PCD on 1/24, which actually seems like it's going to add over 3 weeks to my delivery date compared to if I picked it up at the dealer. I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end!

PCD never gets old and if this is your first it's worth the wait. You'll never go back to regular dealer delivery!

What was your order date? Very curious as me and another guy both ordered in early Dec and still couldn't get allocation. Maybe it's our dealers though...

Order date was 11/30. When I ordered the dealer did have to wait until the following week for them to get an allocation. Note, I've ordered a 40i so maybe that's why you're having issues with getting an allocation as I heard M50i allocations were limited earlier this month...

It'll actually be my 3rd time, but the last one I did was back in 2011. My wife is going to experience it for the first time and I know it's going to be awesome!

No, both mine and the other guy's were 40i. I dunno about his options, mine is a 3 row with other pretty common options (heated steering wheel, etc). Nothing on my car other than 3rd row should be hard to get allocation for (If an option even have any impact at all).

That is strange. Maybe it's a regional or specific dealer thing in terms of how many allocations they are able to get. I don't know enough about how that all works but surprising to hear you're having to wait that long. I was told by my dealer that year-end gets really busy with orders due to companies/businesses ordering cars before end of year for tax purposes.

I ordered my 40i about 10 days ago and they were out of allocations at my dealer (which is a volume dealer). They expect more allocations the first week of the month - it'll feel like forever waiting but at least Christmas and New Years are in between.

I think between end of year order rush and the holidays, it's kind of to be expected in terms of order delays due to allocation.

I'll be doing PCD so I'm likely looking at mid February to actually get the car.

Car finished production (took only 2 days from when they actually started production to finish). Going to be a long 5 weeks...

Waiting is the hardest part. I placed my order on 10/24 with a PCD date of 1/10. Waiting.... sucks.

Yea you and I are in the same boat. Only my dealer just keeps saying it's coming instead of admitting it's an allocation problem

I don't mind it... they gave me a good deal and I can bear with the waiting but would prefer honesty.

I'm going to text my CA on 1/2 to check if allocations came out yet (or if he knows when they will be). With the holiday, not sure if the allocations would be out the week of 1/6.

Congrats! What is the MSRP and sale price for this order? Or how much discount did you get from MSRP? Thx.

I just realized that the bmw USA my garage and mdecoder site don’t show the anthracite matte poplar trim even though my order form that I signed did? Should I be concerned or do they always exclude trim from this info?

It shows S4KR fine line wood.. I thought this may be bc that's the standard trim and the system doesn't capture changes to this no cost option?? Now I'm worried.

Dammit.. I've reached out to my SA. Anyone run into this issue before? At least it's scheduled for PCD over a month from now so it hasn't left the factory.
