M sport package with merino leather on hold

Has anyone heard, as Im being told by my dealer, that if I want M sport package with Merino leather that it could take an unpredictable amount of time to get the car as it is on "hold"? Why would this be??

I ordered mine with m sport and merino 2 weeks ago and its now in the production queue. I’m guessing since it’s close to the holidays there may not be any allocations available before year end but I’d imagine it’d open up soon after New Years.

I wanted to order the extended merino with M sport package amongst others. Thats when they told me it was on hold.

Isn't Spartanburg closed during Christmas? Maybe that's the cause of the hold?

I ordered mine mid-July and didn't even get a production number for almost 2 months. I had several individual options. Wasn't an allocation issue; my dealer had plenty and I'd watch them show up on the lot. They had their corporate rep confirm it was the options on my car. Maybe that's what's going here? I can't imagine they'd be feeding you a line but I wouldn't put much past a lot of these dealers.

Perhaps shoot a message over to another local dealer and see if they're able to place the order you'd like?

Production line still continues but Performance Center is closed and deliveries suspended from Dec 19 through Jan 4.

None that I'm aware of. I'm not one for speculating without confirmation of xDrive40i M Sport package or M50i delays or shortages.

But perhaps all of the build slots are spoken for the remainder of this year and January due to the holidays.

It appears that only M vehicles are effected by that.
