Drive To End Hunger Rebate

I test drove an X5 back in November during the "Drive To End Hunger" event and promptly received an email from BMW with the Redemption Code. A few weeks ago I started negotiating on a new X5, but my CA told me that since I was already getting a good deal (10+%) off MSRP that the dealer wouldn't accept the $1,000 rebate.

The email from BMW states:
Quote:
Thank you for joining us at the BMW Drive To End Hunger test drive event! To show our appreciation, your participating southern region BMW Centers are offering $1,000 off the purchase or lease of a new BMW. This exclusive opportunity is over and above any other attractive offers that are already available to the general public, making this the perfect time to experience the unrivaled performance of the Ultimate Driving Machine®.

Just bring this email to your participating southern region BMW Center and put $1,000 toward your best-negotiated deal on a BMW Ultimate Driving Machine®.
Shouldn't that last sentence ensure that you should get the $1,000?

Ideally they should, but I've heard it's hit or miss with test drive campaigns.

Here's the legal:

**$1,000 offer valid on eligible vehicles test-driven November 12, 2019 through November 18, 2019 and delivered November 12, 2019 through January 31, 2020. Eligible models include most new in-stock MY2019 and MY2020 BMWs. The MY19 & MY20 X7 and 8 Series (all variants), MY19 & MY20 M2 Competition, M5 (all variants), MINI vehicles and BMW Pre-Owned/CPO vehicles do not qualify. This offer cannot be used for vehicles previously ordered or delivered before November 12, 2019 and is only valid on delivery of in-stock vehicles. Offer valid to BMW's Drive To End Hunger Test Drive Event participants and their family members residing within the same household. Offer valid on final negotiated lease or purchase price and may be combined with other applicable BMW offers that are available at the time of purchase, except, that it may NOT be combined with the offer from the Accelerate Into Autumn Test Drive event. It also may not be used toward tax, title, destination and delivery charges. Only one redemption code per vehicle may be used. Only valid at participating dealers. Please see your participating BMW Center for complete program details.

Yep, I think so too. Just wonder why there would be any pushback?

It might be listed somewhere or at least I've read from several sources that for these $1000 coupons, usually it's a 50/50 contribution from BMWNA and the dealer. I don't see why they wouldn't at least offer you the $500 part from BMWNA even if they are "including" the $500 dealer contribution in your discount. Doesn't make sense and sounds like they want to eat the $500 from BMWNA.

OL Codes are $500 direct from BMW to the dealer. It's up to the dealer if they want to add that additional $500 ($1000) to their deal depending on what's already been negotiated. Your dealer is just keeping the $500 from BMW.

Thank you. I haven’t given them the code, but it’s good to know what they’re doing, or attempting to do.

**UPDATE** Ended up going with another dealer (not because of the code issue) and they accepted the Drive For Hunger code with no issues at all. They just applied $500 into the total rebates.

Thanks for all of your help.

Congrats.

Did they apply it to a custom order? The terms say "in stock" so curious in case my dealer pushes back.

Thanks! It was on an in stock M50i. It was nearly identical to the build I was going to do and they beat the build quote by almost $3,000 and then I was also able to apply the $500 rebate too. It was worth the out of state drive for me.
