EU (Belgium) tracking of production
So I just ordered a 45e and I'm seeing all those fancy screenshots from other people waiting for their car, showing the status of the car assembly etc. When I spoke to my dealer he told me that he is getting crazy from all the people calling him to ask for updates. He is not aware about a way to track the car yourself.
Is there a way that you can track the production process once you receive the VIN? Thanks! |

I have tried with the vin code on the site of the shipping company but it never worked for me. First my car was scheduled half november. Then postponed to januari. And finally it came as a early Christmas present 23/12. They arrive in Zeebrugge in a big lot and are then send over Belgium / Europe gradually. And the dealer has prepare it for delivery. Apparently the dealer can see where the car is but can't really change the distribution proces.

The only EU country with some tracking is France as they can add their production number in the Connected drive app, the system is called "my BMW is born". |

Exactly. I ordered a Tesla a few years ago. Having this view on the production process, what's happening to your car and so on is a great thing to hype the ordering process. Secondly the volume of calls that will drop at the dealer to get updates I'll dig a bit deeper but happy to get some more info if anyone has insights in this process!

So apparently the dealer could get an activation code to enter in the Connected app where you need to add a new car. This results in the following screens https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%...AE70A7CE0C339A

I was wondering. When I did sign the contract the sales guy give you more than 30 pages. 1 of the pages (after the paper what you have to sign) is a page with 2 pictures. Above there is a configuration code.
Maybe thats the code you need to type into add new car in the connected drive app ? My Sales didn't know why the page was there .... |

I think that is just a code you can use to load your specified configuration, I don't think it's tied to your actual order.
If you replace XXX in this url with your code from that page: Code:
https://configure.bmw.be/nl_BE/configid/XXX/G05 |
