different motors gonna be different, but i know on the S65 LM makes the engine noticeably louder. while that's not a big deal on its own, I stay away from it because that motor has a reputation.

not sure i'd go with a non-OE oil vendor on the S68 either though.

Considering how sensitive BMW engines are when it comes to oil and rod bearing issues I plan on always sticking with bmw approved oils at 5K intervals.

I ran Amsoil in my older BMWs without issues except for one X5 with the N55 engine that developed a constant ticking sound with only 15K miles on the odometer. Dealer never figured it out and ended up buying back the car but part of me wonders if the oil had anything to do with it.

See above. I won’t put LM into the engine.

I use Amsoil all of the time in my X5MC and M50i with stock BMW filters for ECS or FCP.

I do a mix of Dealer service oil changes and them my own in between each dealer recommended mileage.

I have noticed they are definitely quieter after an Amsoil change. Also Amsoil is a little more Red / Orange in color from the bottle.

I also watched Project Farms oil test and after watching his test with oils and Liquid Moly decided to stick with the Amsoil.

He updates the testing as this is an old shoot out, but the general info is about the same.
