Not possible to track the truck once it leaves the factory. Here is some info on the F12 process.

My plan was to use your VIN to make a video of me doing it and then you can see what I did. Also if you were okay with it, I was going to post the videos so others can see. It will show your VIN, which isn't a big deal since your deal will likely post it on their web site, so I always like to ask.

There is no tracking with the F12 process, that is done with the normal MyGarage screen. What the F12 process will get you is all of the option codes associated with your build as well as your scheduled production date.

Sounds like you are either on the vehicle specific screen rather than the first MyGarage screen or you are not refreshing the screen once bringing up the developer.

The parts for the knee bag recall are on the way and the software update for the DMTL is due out this week.

The recalls are not solely a 50e issue. They are both occurring on different models and series.

It was likely to be released yesterday or today but have not heard that it was, hopefully we do soon.

I am still waiting for an update from my dealer, asked them yesterday but didn't receive a response, will post here once I find out.

My dealer contacted me yesterday to tell me there should be a fix either today or tomorrow. He didn't know if it was a software or hardware fix. I may be able to pickup at the end of the week.

Welcome to the forum. That is bad information and can be ignored. All LCI vehicles can be updated to 8.5. BMW announced that information almost two months ago.

I still don't understand how you can be so utterly clueless about something you are dealing with professionally on a daily basis. My (German) dealer is the same. I don't even ask him about ANY information anymore because I know whatever he would provide me with will be either extremely outdated & useless or actually mostly simply completely made up on the spot so it would fit whatever would be most convenient for him. I've encountered this so often I've lost track honestly. Stuff like a model being known for a specific issue and specific symptoms within the community and the service guy either pretending or just lying about not knowing ANYTHING about this, never having heard of such issues. WG rattle or HPFP on the N54, xDrive transfer case issues, I could go on for ages ... Of course you are always the very first case they've ever heard about.

Not even kidding if you are reading on a forum like this one you will know 10x more than 99.9% of all dealers even though they should actually have more inisght & internal info. Most car sales guys at dealers wouldn't even know what B58 stands for and are completely clueless about even most basic information about the stuff they are selling if you start asking even remotely specific questions it gets really embarrassing really quickly. (Go ask a sales guy how many turbochargers a B58 has ... I bet 50% couldn't even guess how many cylinders half their models have.) ANY BMW enthusiast knows more about BMW than people who are paid to know this. Whenever I spoke to a sales guy even when asking for specific information it would just be useless marketing-hogwash. Thanks but I can read BMW press-releases myself. It's embarrassing.
