Stop Sale X5 Hands Free Option

I was taking delivery this morning for my X5 2024 40i when my dealership called to tell me that there is a Stop Sale issued for my x5 for the hands free option. Has anyone else experienced this? The date of production is July 28 2023. The dates affected are from July 24 - August 9

My suspicion is that they figured out the forgot to "turn on" the feature for many cars as many people were complaining they can't activate the feature?

Just a wild guess...

They woudn’t give me any details as everything is closed today. Hopefully know more about it on Monday. As far as I know there are two hands free, the phone and tailgate operation. I’m hopeful it’s a software upgrade

I don't think either of those would cause a stop sale, they are probably referring to Highway Assistant.

Probably that is what it is. Hopefully it requires a software upgrade. Doing a VIN search this pops up.

Hopefully there is fix by then and you don’t have to wait for it to be delivered to you. I would contact your dealership and see if they know anything about this stop sale. If you can please share

Any one has an idea on how long this might take?

What is the "hands free"option? Just picked my car up yesterday. Between this, Android Auto not working, and a rather unusual and loud sound when charging, things aren't off to a great start.

As a datapoint - my 50e build has a prod date of Aug 10 in My Garage but Aug 9 when decoding the VIN. I do not show a stop code when looking up the VIN on the German website.

I can’t get the handsfree cruise to work in my 24 X5. The option is on so maybe it’s a software issue?

I'd guess it's software.....BTW, I like your choice of music. Went to same HS as Tom Petty. Heard him play many times in Gainesville with Mudcrutch. Tom and Don Felder of the Eagles were buds.

Mine makes the same noise. The high pitched electrical sound? Not sure. Just hope my house doesn’t burn down
