2 months left on lease should I get service done?

My lease ends in 2 months and I got a txt message from BMW that my car alerted them that it is due for service.

I am no longer under warranty. I have new tires that I recently had put on and engine oil added last week.

Would you get service and pay out of pocket? Whatd the risk of not servicing?

How many miles are left before service is due and how many miles do you anticipate driving between that time?
Are you turning in the car or acquiring it at lease end?

If it were me and I had a good buffer of miles before the service was actually due, I’d skip it if turning it in at end of lease.

If you check the car what is due? If its not covered under warranty I would just have a independent shop take care of it for a fraction of the cost.

I would skip since you are turning it in.

A call to your leasing company to see if you need it…
Second the opinion of going to an Indy shop for the oil service if not covered.

Just stay under 600 miles before lease end, otherwise an indy shop and keep the receipt as the oil change will not be in your service history if checked at lease turn in. BMW FS is now requiring photos to be taken of the car when grounded. As your changing into a iX M60, see if the dealership will waive the damage.

BTW what happened to the front center of your carbon fiber trim? You’ll most likely be charged for that damage, as the entire trim piece would have to be replaced.

I vote for service the X5M and keep it…but I can see the (non-visual) appeal of the IX. Hope it’s awesome. And agree w others keep the X5 under 600 miles and trade it in. They will probably do it as part of the CPO process anyway.

The front is just sticky pad from when I mounted a phone holder

If my engine oil was low recently and I had it topped off does that mean I dont need the oil change?

if you topped off enough to replace as much oil as an oil change replaces, you should be buying a new engine

yes, still needs an oil change.

I would be wary of the leasing company charging you full price for an oil change if it was due when you turn it in. If it was me I would go to an indy and have them change and reset and save your receipt.
Just my. .02…..
