It really does not look that bad in person. I was fine with it.

I've gotten used to it too. I get why they did it. My F30 has leather so tight it feels like I'm sitting on a bongo drum in the back seat.

I love the G05 overall so much I'm happy to look past this new "design" and carry on.

I'm not sure how mine compare to the rest, here's a better picture. In person I don't mind their looks.

I am happy with the rear seats... especially when I open the car door and smell the merino leather... I am personally not worried about my ruffle pattern ( maybe I got a good one)

Ok, I'm sure our definitions of The 'Good one' are different

So far, did anyone get one without some wrinkles in the back seat? Is this something across the board?

i have actually rejected my car on the basis of the seats.

in other posts i mentioned various issues i had with my car, it has spent more time in dealership than with me

last week, a convo with a lawyer in the office, who saw the pics of my seats and she advised me by law, i can reject the car, she wrote me a 2 line email, which i sent to dealership (principal dealer, head of new car sales and head of servicing).

not one of them responded, when i went in the following day to collect my car, they didnt mention this, so i asked, if i take the car are my consumer rights violated, they advised me to reject the car.

so i have done so, there are now 3 options with BMW, 1 - replace seats, 2 - replace car, 3 - full refund, (i do not want a refund)

i did highlight the seat issue at collection of car; they said they will work with BMW cust services.

however rejecting the car has given me a stronger leg to stand on as i REFUSE to accept the car with my seat (image posted on another post)

awaiting their decision, will keep you all updated.

I wouldn't say that.........that deep crease on the right of the picture would have had me rejecting the car at delivery..........
That is too deep and inconsistent with the rest of the seats.

This is clearly a situation with poor quality control of the new local seat supplier since they took supply away from Lear.

Discovery sports also suffered from same issue, I had mine "repaired" 3 times but didn't work.

When was your vehicle built?

i do not know when mine was built, as i took one of three already in the UK built at the time, mine had the exact spec with the exception of one item, so i took it,

i ordered 1st dec, took delivery on saturday 29th dec,, i made note and high lighted the seat issue straight away on delivery, they took note and asked me to email BMW Cust Services which i did.

on Tuesday 1st the car broke down with a accumulation of errors; went into garage for 3 days, i had it again for a few days and since then it has been in garage, i was meant to collect on sat, as i mentioned i rejected the car on sat gone after advice from lawyer in my firm.

bluntly put this car cost me a absolute fortune and i have not had it even 5-7 days in my possession.

disgrace, my dealership are very helpful, (it helps i spend alot of money each year there and in 3 months have got 3 cars from them for myself.

they actually agreed that i should reject the vehicle,

just awaiting what BMW GB come back with, but i know by refusing the car this weekend, my consumer rights are 100% in tact.

i just want my car, i was even told i had the first one officially released to a customer in the UK!

Surely your dealer can order a replacement rear seat. Any chance an auto upholstery shop can eliminate the wrinkles? The switch from Lear to Magna as the seat supplier for the SC plant may have been a mistake.

BMW Warranty were playing hard ball, IF i kept the car whilst they wasted time, my consumer rights dissipate rapidly!

more time i keep the vehicle and to and fro with BMW warranty, the less my rights are; hence my route to reject the car, which i wanted to do on the day i took delivery, but dealer told me to take car and they would "sort it"...

Found the image you posted and I see why you found the rear seat unacceptable - it looks very bad.

So the manufacturer of the seat was changed from Lear to Magna...is this just for the rear seat? Is a different manufacturer used for the front seats? If so, I'd say that significantly weakens the argument that the wrinkles in the rear seats are as intended.

My understanding is that Magna is the sole supplier for all seats. They built a new factory a few miles from the BMW plant.

Quite.
I would have told them to foxtrot oscar, and they can keep it and sort it, and when you have sorted it, I'll then take delivery.

Well I bought a 75k suv not a 100k suv... so well I will be happy with what I got (doubled over rear seat wrinkles) I guess I will suffer the poor quality control at 75k....

That often happens when a company goes with the lowest bid.

Magna seems to be a mega company, still don’t understand what really happened, I’m sure they can do way much better.

Mine have some wrinkling, but not enough to bother me. They look worse in pictures than they do in real life. But there’s no way they are intentional. It’s a lot easier to do a front bucket seat without wrinkles than a back bench seat apparently.
