Unfortunately quite common, they have no allocation for the customer and then lie in order to keep them on the hook so they don't go to another dealer. Hopefully it is just a case of them being incompetent and you do have an order in with an allocation. Ask them to run a VIR for you and that will tell you.

Does anyone know if there will be a straight petrol engine for the new BMW X5 in the UK, X drive 4.0i M Sport? At the moment the website is only showing the 3.0d diesel and the x50E petrol hybrid model. Thanks in advance.

Vehicle Inquiry Report. It shows the details of an order and one of the data items is the status.

Thanks again for your guidance. My dealer finally came clean after I said I wanted a copy of the VIR. He said that he was incorrect about telling me that the allocation was assigned to my car. The VIR showed 047. He said it would be in the April allocation. We'll have to see if that happens.

When I placed my order, my dealer told me that they did not yet have an allocation, but that I was first in line when they would for the x5m-this seem reasonable? How often do allocations appear? They seemed to indicate that having an active order would potentially improve their odds of an allocation for it since they hadn’t sold any yet. (I’m fine waiting for may production or June really)

About two weeks prior to your production day you will go into the Production Begins status. At that time a VIN will be assigned and parts ordered/allocated.

The domestic military incentive is $2,000 when you bring outside financing/cash. If you lease or finance with BMWFS then it is $500.
