Getting my oem winters installed tomorrow. Probably not as sharp as keeping the comp wheels on all year round, but oem never disappoints with the winters. Happy to just "set autopilot" and forget it. Path of least resistance.
Couldn't have said it any better...that's the route I'm taking as well. Autopilot has a nice ring to it. Enjoy your winter set, in Chicago they are a must!

Tire rack told me the rears 22'' will be back in stock late January 2022. I got mine, all 4 from the dealer..about $1900 ish

Finally got the wheels installed today— they look okay. What can do though, not too many options!

Outside of general grip and handling, should these winter tires be treated any differently?

Thanks!

Other 20” g05 wheels fit though it would be advisable to run spacers. Cannot speak for this exact wheel unfort.

Just picked up my 808M set this weekend from the dealer (which I ordered over the summer and they held for me).

Swung by my sales guy and he said BMW is so backed up that new orders aren't scheduled for delivery until FEB22.

I'm in the NE, hopefully he was exaggerating but good luck to everyone out there that needs em.

Yeah, they fit although agree you probably want spacers IMO. I remember someone posting this in classifieds a while back: https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27224186

you got them, that's the win.

Mine are apparently sitting at a port somewhere and weeks away.

Anyone have any updates/leads by chance on a set? I have a set on order (ordered on Nov 13th) and now my dealer is saying "mid-December", I'm like so next week!?

We head out on the 30th for CO, and unfortunately I have to admit I don't have a backup plan; so I'm getting kind of nervous about cutting it so freaking close! And renting a car would suck…

I'm gonna be calling on Friday, but, yeah, I ordered around the time you did (a weekish later) but I bet we're on the same boat because that's what I heard too.

It has snowed or iced every day since I got the wheels on. Now 12 inches tomorrow. More worried about ground clearance!

Hope so, you seem to get solid info! Appreciate that for sure! Just don't know why it's so hard to get a solid answer for simple questions like when they were loaded on the damn boat or is there an option to call a distributor and grab a set. Crazy!

I called on Friday and the word is slim possibility of next week, more likely before holiday breaks, but there's a chance it could be after.

He was confident of before the holidays based on the past shipments but he also said given the challenges there are no promises.

Yes they will fit. I'll be running this set up on my trips to the mountains. However, i already have 25mm spacers all around so it should look decent.. without spacers it will be a major sunken boat look.

My 808Ms came in yesterday (ordered on Nov 29th). I have an appointment to have them mounted on Tuesday. I’ll report back once they’re on.

Oo! You're on the East Coast right?

That's a bit after I ordered mine so hopefully it's the same batch and mine are on a truck on the way

Correct, I'm on the East Coast (NJ), however my set is unlikely in the same batch as yours. You see, when I approached my dealer to order a winter 808M set w/ Alpins I got the same story as most (no stateside inventory, backordered and low availability from Germany).

Seeing as all the 808s were coming from Germany, I decided to try and source a set directly from Germany (I lived in Bonn for a while and speak light moderate German). I located a set, (with some help), and the dealer agreed to ship it to the U.S. Aware of all the shipping issues and delays at US ports etc., I instructed the dealer to expedite the shipping via air freight (at a cost of EUR900). My 808Ms arrived 10 days after all payment and customs paper work was completed.

Good luck with your set GrussGott, the shipping issues and delays are ridiculous! I hope yours arrive soon.

Smart! Damn, I should've thought of that ... I would've easily paid the 900 for the fast service.

Nice job!

That is freaking brilliant!

So out of curiosity I called a dealer in Canada based on your brilliant idea of sourcing from Germany. Get this; The dealer in Edmonton has 4 sets in stock that no one ordered or obviously currently needs, they won't ship them to the States. Tried dealer to consumer, dealer to dealer etc., didn't budge lol

Meanwhile back stateside my dealer said the wheels are at the disti cent but waiting on tires. SMH

I personally gave up and we're just renting a Tahoe for our ski trip. It is what it is.

Honestly, if it wasn’t for the well documented issues posted on here I wouldn’t have thought to expedite the shipment! I have fellow BMW enthusiasts to thank for sharing their stories.

That is simply bad business. I wonder if a buddy in Canada could buy them for you and ship them across? It’s nuts the hoops we have to jump through for a set of wheels & tires!

Driving an Expedition MAX right now ...

Gotta say, I'm about 80% of the way to ordering one of these ...
