Week 26 Build

Newbie here..

Ordered my X5 on May 9, dealer originally said 6 weeks to delivery, which I think was too good to be true. I didn't know about this forum or how to get code data until this past week, when we hit "production begins" or status code 150. We were traveling, so I don't know how many days it was at this status before we noticed it, but at least from June 7. Dealer confirmed production week 26 on June 7, and from looking up code it shows a production date of June 26.
I'm seeing quite a few others have their dates moved up, but don't want to get my hopes up. If week 26 holds true, that would be three weeks at status 150. Does seem normal? Now dealer says with week 26 build, delivery may take another 2-4 weeks! We are within 1hr of Spartanburg, so that seems a bit absurd. Argh, I hate waiting!

Welcome to the forum. It is usually in 150 abut two weeks, delivery should take less than a day once dispatched.

So if the production date is the 30th would that mean that is really when it is completed?

Yes, it some cases it can be later or even earlier. However generally speaking the production date is when the build will be finished.

Another newbie here!

I put my deposit down at the dealer on April 20th for an X5 xDrive 40i loaded (including Executive and Climate Comfort packages). I was initially told I should have it by the end of May, but then told it was delayed. At the beginning of this week, I was told production start was scheduled for the first week of July. On Thursday, June 15th, the dealer emailed that my X5 had just started production and should be complete by June 29th (Week 26), and then a few days for it to arrive in Massachusetts. So excited!

Welcome to the forum. Just for clarity, what your dealer is referring to is the vehicle going into the Production Begins status. That means that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated not that assembly has begun. Actual assembly takes less than a day.

Thanks for the clarification. I did actually know this because I've been snooping on this forum for a few weeks to find out why my order was delayed since the dealer wasn't telling me anything.

I've tried multiple times to create an account on the iPhone/iPad app, but kept getting an error. I finally sat down on my computer today and was able to create an account using a web browser, so now I can actively participate!

It’s bit confusing, my G80 had a production date of 6/12 and by 6/11 it was in the final stages and on 6/12 it was leaving the factory. With my wife’s X5 40i with a production date of 6/27 it’s still in 150 status. If there system is not delayed I’ll be impressed if it can go to 150 - to quality check within 2 business days

All is as it should be. Assembly takes less than a day and you will see the movement on the 27th or maybe late on the 26th.

Fair enough, I’m thinking when I ordered my M340 and with the G80 on the boat, once it hit the assembly line it was half the day- paint booth was a full day then after that everything moved pretty quick.

For Spartanburg sometimes 151 and 152 shows but usually it just updates to 153 - Entering Assembly Line.

You should see it on your production day or maybe late the day before.
