Week 19 EU (BE) Build with immediate recall
Hi all,
After being very excited to see my order from December '21 for a G05 45e was finally into status 150 and getting a VIN, I now saw on the recall tool it has an open recall of type "no recall" (so i guess a sale block) with defect code: 0065630300 but no description Does anyone know what the code is about ? I first thought it was perhaps the activation for Carplay that was still needed as option 6P1 was in my build codes from the beginning, but then by end of March it disappeared from the build list.. so I wonder if they put a newer version already on it or not.. on mdecoder though I can see the build date is May 10 and 6P1 is still there, confusing.. (and is it is a European version, we don't have "MyGarage" to do the F12 trick) On the other side 32W was also still on the build list, so I guess i'll have a manual lower tailgate.. or this "recall" is to retrofit the powered lower tailgate in Bremerhaven or Brugge? Google was not really helpful on the defect code, except one record telling it is to retrofit the central idrive touchscreen, which seems weird as this issue was long solved and did not come back as far as I can see on the fora.. Thanks for any help.. |

Well this is certainly interesting. My US spec vehicle (same build date) doesn't show any open technical enhancements, but has been stuck in quality check status for a few days now. It seems that any vehicles built after a certain time on 5/9 aren't being released for some reason or another. My build (along with other US builds around this time) never showed 6P1.

This one with a prod date 5/09 shows a status of “arriving soon,” whereas this one , also 5/09- as well as any VIN after that one- is still “in production.” So it seems there’s either some serious system errors, or an issue with production. |

Sounds like there is a stop sale/hold on them. My guess is we will hear the details soon if it persists.

My US 45e build with prod date of 5/11 is also still in QC limbo. No recalls shown for my VIN. Genius has no further info.

I did give Genius a call and she at least said she didn’t see anything to indicate a recall or stop sale. I’ll definitely take that with a grain of salt, but that’s at least *decent* news. Additionally, I’m scheduled for PCD in about two and a half weeks and haven’t heard from them about rescheduling, so that’s also a plus.

Not that it tells us much, but it looks like all X7s produced this week are also stuck in QC.

It’d be interesting to see if anyone else with an EU-spec build has the technical enhancement code for the “central display retrofit.” It’s a strange coincidence that foxG21’s vehicle has it, but our (US-spec) vehicles don’t show that code.

Reports on motor-talk forum indicate that the first cars got their display in Bremerhaven. Unfortunately it seems to be totally at random or (worst case) first-in-last-out queue.
