X6 M60i vs X6 M
I placed an order for an X6 M60i the day before yesterday. Fully loaded it comes at $113k
I have second thoughts now and thinking about changing my order to an X6 M competition. Fully loaded it comes at $140k. I was wondering what does the extra $27k get me other than the few extra horses and the better gear shifter? Cabin wise does the M use more leather than the M60i? Should I expect to see any plastic/leatherette on the doors with the M60i? Thanks in advance! |

Wow, my X6 M60i totaled a hair over 101K, you must have checked every box.
Be absolutely certain that the full "M Comp" is waaaaay more than HP, it is a totally different vehicle, tighter, faster, about as intense as a stock SUV can be. I've got a fair amount of seat time in an X5 MC and it is wildly different than my previous X5 M50i. A full disclosure of the M Comp's standard features is a long list and readily accessable via internet search but probably easier to find most of it on BMWs product site. Post your question as it was worded here in the X5M/X6M section. You'll get some healthy responses there. Last edited by cobramite; 10-09-2023 at 09:10 AM.. |

Yeah, maybe the choice of words was wrong, and can see how it could attract some unhealthy response I was more curious about the cabin material, rather than the performance, handling and specs that I can find online. For example, I can't seem to find out what's the material on the top door panels on the M60i. I know it may sound silly, but I really hate the leatherette and would be willing to go to M Performance just for that.. |

If you check every box on the full M Model you will get full leather all around including the lower sections of the front dash and door panels. Alcantara roof, slightly reshaped center console, better M seats. Thats all of the changes on the pre LCI M models compared to the M lites in terms of the interior.
What you are really paying for is the full M experience. The drive between the two will be drastically different and for most I think the M60 will suit the needs better and for others the X6M is what they want. I suggest driving both and the decision after that should be pretty clear. Alan

You should really drive an M Comp first if you haven't allready. I love them but would not want it for a daily driver. These are really fast and aggressive vehicles. Personally I don't keep vehicles long enough to care much about dashboards and door card coverings. Good Luck! |

I would recommend you drive both before taking any input. The M is really a totally different beast. the M60 is a beast as well but the M car is just that, a totally different set up across the board. the drive and experience will be different for sure which is why you need to drive and see if the extra $$ would be worth it for you in your particular scenario

maybe you can post a thread to see if anyone near you has one they would let you take a look at etc.. with them. It could be a long shot but could be worth a shot.

I bought an x5 M50. Performance is wild. I look at it everyday and think about, for just a second, how it’s not a true M. Do the m6 or try and get a cayenne GTS.
Worth it. -an experienced owner. Just my 2 cents |

I didn't manage to find an M but got to test drive an XM, and was blown away. This thing drives like a bullet train. Will definitely try a M Comp before making the final decision. Thanks all for suggesting to go out and try them out

A simple JB4 can add a ton on top of that. You could have fun playing around with one of these: Last edited by cobramite; 10-10-2023 at 12:42 PM.. |

And it’ll drop another $30k when you drive it off the lot.

Looks like a good deal and you did enjoy the test drive. Try to test drive an X6M before you pull the trigger on an XM.

I wouldn't but I'm not the one in your situation. Make sure you do thorough test drives since many people are not satisfied with the driving experience.

It is a ~150K car, right? $30k off is 20% off. I think it is a good deal. Better yet, I will consider lease it with that kind of cap reduction.

I was unimpressed with the acceleration even using L/C,and the roll-on performance from 60ish hit hard initially but faded quickly. I was definitely expecting more. Both the wife and I wondered how such a nicely appointed, plush interior($160k MSRP!) had that afterthought of a headliner..you touched it and it moved around as if not secured properly. She was ready to plop down $160k until the headliner issue

So.. I managed to try an X5 M. I loved the car and the handling, but the highway noise was far too much! I suspect it's due to the 21/22 wheels. I was wondering, if I wanted would I be able to put the 20" wheels of the vanilla X5? It doesn't seem to be an option on the configurator, but was wondering if I can order them and have the dealer swap them out for me.
PS: I am driving the dealer crazy going back and forth between M and M60i.. |

Not the same whatsoever as an XM is an EV hybrid vs a X6M comp full ICE. There is no comparison at the end of the day as the latter is a completely different beast. Good luck with your choice but IMO ICE all the way. 👍
