Saw a couple posts by people getting their '25 50e's saying the "Electrified by I" wording has been removed from the side vent. Can't say I'm upset about that.

This is my first post, and I may be trying to lump too many issues into one thread. (Im a lumper not a splitter). But I hope to get better at it.

I placed an individual color on a 2025 50e on 5/22/24. The Mygarage website indicates my "order is received" and they're looking for a"space in the production schedule." Not surprising the dealership told me September for delivery.

Of bigger concern is the following. For all of you waiting for your 50e's, how have the CEL and drivetrain/high voltage problems influenced your decision making progress. I am thinking of changing to a different model or just waiting another year.

thanks in advance!

Very concerned but praying the 2025 has it sorted.

Watching every day for the first 2025 cel report, please tell me it's not happened

I decided I was okay with the risk - assuming I can get a loaner and thereby test out other vehicles. I believe in their ability to figure this out and not have a car that continually leaves me with issues. Plus there are people that come to the forum because they are joining a community of something they share in common, and then there are others that join because their car is having issues and they hope to find something to help them out and vent frustrations. So I tend to believe the CEL issues are overweighted from a sampling perspective in the forum.

It did take me awhile to get comfortable with my thinking though, and everyone needs to figure out their own comfort level.

Welcome to the forum. Individual paints are done in batches so your order will be put into one of them. There is one in late August but may be filled up. We have not seen any going into a later one yet though.

While it is still early in the data collection process, we have not seen any MY25's exhibiting the SME, CCU, valve or drivetrain issues that plagued the MY24's.

Me too, but i was originally considering CPO and after reading this forum decided it was actually the better move to try and get a good deal on a MY25 instead, and if it is plagued with the same issues at least I'd be in better standing to get them sorted or have the dealer buy the car back. So thats what I did in the end.

Update on progress at the factory

Update 6/17 - My sales rep called today and he thinks our X5 will be ready next week. The website still says "PRODUCTION BEGINS". Will update if anything happens.
Update 6/18 -
The tracker website advanced several steps since yesterday to the 6th circle, "ENTERING ASSEMBLY LINE - On to the assembly line, where your BMW really starts to come together."

Train derailment carrying new BMWs?

Well I'm hoping someone else can give some insight on my post to your question. Placed order for 2024 50e back in December. The dealer was not upfront about the production delays. It was like pulling teeth to get the facts - I had to call another dealer to get the true status on the delays. They converted the 2024 order to the 2025. No problem. So I've waited 6 months and here is the kicker. Car went into production on 5/10/24. Tracked it all the way to 5/29 when it showed "in transit", the last dot on the tracker before the "arrived at dealership" dot. Talking to Genius for update since the salesperson at the dealership can't be bothered to return a phonecall, and the Genius says you might want to contact the dealer, could be another 4weeks to 2 months. WHAT?? So I press the dealer via email and get a 2 sentence reply only "the railcar your vehicle was in was damaged and taken offline for repairs. Trying to get more info." The thing is, the tracking had the car on the way to the dealership, not on the way to the hub. So I assume this was a trucking company, not the railway. Now the latest tracking shows that the car went backwards one dot - back to the "At the Port". Anyone else waiting for an early June delivery via the San Bernardino hub? Or heard of a train into southern CA derailment causing delays?

Welcome to the forum. If the rail car story is not true then it could have been damaged on the way to the dealer and now it is at a VDC getting repaired. It is a pain to have that extra delay but it will be repaired just like it was from the factory.

It being a pain is an understatement. I'm not sure what is worse:1) the fact that the tracking indicates it was an accident on the way to the dealer (and not a railcar) = the dealer lying. 2) The potential and ultimate lack of transparency about what sort of damage there was to the car since the dealer is not willing to be honest about it in the first place. I don't have confidence that it will be repaired just like it was from the factory. Do you, really?

Unfortunately sometimes dealers are honest. Also keep in mind though that if it was damaged the dealer usually doesn't get the details.

I have no doubt it will be. Vehicles are damaged all of the time during shipping and there is a body shop in the VDC that does all types of repairs to return the vehicle to factory condition.

Well although I appreciate your reply, I beg to differ on that point. Several uncles and cousins of mine owned Mercedes dealerships on the East Coast so I'm familiar with the workings of dealerships. A vehicle history report should absolutely be available to the dealer from BMW NA. Also, a repaired vehicle on who knows what kind of damage is not the same as factory new. My reply post was primarily inquiring if anyone else in SoCal was waiting on their BMW for an early June delivery and heard about an accident delaying delivery. Wondering if this is just the car I was waiting for that was damage and delayed, or if it was the entire load. Thanks again for your kind reply.

You can differ if you want. Just relaying the experiences of folks on this forum.

Do you mean people on the forum have been aware of damage to their new vehicles prior to delivery? I'll search the site for any insight on that.

In your earlier comment I think you meant to say sometimes dealers are "dishonest"? That I agree with wholeheartedly! Just not the part about the dealer not knowing about damage to an incoming car, and that a repaired car is as good as a factory new car. Ok. Done with my venting. Thanks for listening.

Probably was a Freudian slip since it seems most are not honest.

Yes, that happens often with those that go by ship. Here is a little article the VDC at Oxnard.
