good morning, I am the owner of a bmw x5 g05 40i and yesterday I decided to disconnect the exhaust valve cable. now I would like to know if there are caps to cover the two exposed connectors, if so where can I buy them?

is there a specific time to take it out the fuse? i’ve seen a post mentioning putting the vehicle in sport + and have some one rev it a bit so the flap opens then remove the fuse

You need to have the bimmerapp and open it. Than take the fuse out. Sport is difficult, because there don't open it full.

Is it "safe" to pull the fuse? As in, any concerns with long term effects on the exhaust system / engine? I assume not, because in theory you could put the car in sport every time you drive, so it should be within parameters.

I guess the important question is: Would I need to undo that before taking it to the dealer for maintenance?

(I don't mean to necro this thread, but rather than start a new one I figure someone here might know the answer)

Pulling the fuse won't do anything negative. It *might* show up if a tech scanned it but worst thing, put the fuse back in. I used the app to open the valves on mine and the disconnected the cables and covered the tape for now but might plug it all back in, open the valves and pull the fuse.
