Exhaust Setup Recommendations for 2020 F96 X6 M Comp
Hey y’all. Me and buddy are gonna do some exhaust work to my 20 X6 M Comp
I’m planning on doing a Secodnary Cat Delete and welding a straight pipe in its place, resonator delete for 2 straight pipes, and delete the single middle part of the 3 mufflers on the rear for a single horizontal straight pipe. Now my question to you guys is instead of doing the resonator delete for the 2 straights, should I instead do an X pipe? Will it sound better than straights? From most aftermarket companies I see they offer both so I don’t know what’s better sounding lol. The previous owner sent me a video of his friend who had straight pipes in place of the resonator and the middle rear muffler part delete and it sounded awesome. Will also get a slight burble tune from bimmerworks to accommodate the exhaust work and make it sound like it should from factory Any video clips that anyone has along with their setup would be greatly appreciated, thanks!! |

Personally I would keep the factory secondary pipes intact and store, then buy some new pipes with secondary cat delete. Get the X-pipe from Dinan and leave the muffler alone. It's already hollow inside. I would keep your factory stuff as much as possible in case you trade it down the road. Many places won't take it if modified or require you to put it back to stock if any emissions related components were modified. That can be an expensive lesson later on.
Also, I don't think the burble mod from bimmerowrks on a 2020. It throws a CEL. |
