Can someone explain how the wheel turns in that style of wheel well?

I've noticed all the future concept cars have that style of covered wheel. There must be a way it makes turns.

Alright... alright... we mustn't forget it's easier to critique than it is to create

Disappointed - to say the least

I expect much, much more insight and marketing prowess from a car company that commands the global auto marketplace and makes as much money as BMW does.

I am certainly a BMW fan, but this concept car is not appealing. Nor was this 'unveiling'.

MB's concept was futuristic - yet believable -and most could see purchasing one sooner vs later.

This car from BMW is perhaps technically interesting, but not anything that even those of us on 'the edge' (crazy car people, as I own both a 2016 i8 and 2016 750) could wrap our brains around.

C'mon BMW - swiftly step up your overall game.

Don't lose touch with your current and prospective customer base. In fact, ask your customers to join a real, global customer advisory board to consult with you on these types of things.

Or - you may find even the most common cars on the road overtaking your brand, marketing, and foresight reputation.

Just my $0.02, for whatever it's worth (probably not very much).

I was awestruck by GINA and the loss of Chris Bangle was a devastating blow to BMW design. He was a remarkable designer and a visionary. This new 100 year concept is truly lacking the inspiration generated by Bangle. Hopefully at some point the collective minds at design will approach the genius evident in that single man. Until that occurs we should expect nothing but unremarkable concepts and uninspired vehicles. Sad.

I am sorry, but it seems almost useless to debut concepts like these; we most likely won't see anything close to it for a very long time. I say, debut it when it is close to being ready rather than a million years from production.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Wow this is so futuristic. They nailed it with a vision of the future. Most people here are not ready for such a radical design but If I put myself in my children's and children's children's shoes I have to say our current design looks like a classic but old compared to this. Good job BMW!

It looks good in raw silver! But...

The gold color if fucking hideous!!!
The steering wheel is a total fail. What the fuck is BMW Group Designers doing over their in Germany??? Another epic finishing fail! Whoever is choosing the paint colors should be fired yesterday!

Well said!

Chris Bangle seamed like a total prick, BUT he was and is a great Designer! I seriously miss his designs and concepts. He was ahead of his time, but the public doesn't see that until after the fact as time passes on.

I think it is just sad that this thing is intended to celebrate BMWs 100th Birthday...
I was really hoping for something more exiting.

It looks like an aircraft yoke. "Future" concept cars have been taking inspiration from planes for more than half a century

I am optimistic since BMW has had rough periods in the past. There does seem to be a design problem- can't quite put my finger on it- maybe too German or something.

In the past BMW turned to Italy for a solution ie: Isetta and M1. So maybe it could work again with some Italian influence to all these straight edges.

And to think, back in 2006 I was mad at Chris Bangle for putting that tail on the 645i car. Wish he was still there.
