You guys ever travel in style?

I'm talking the Creme de la Creme... private jets, yachts, limos, helicopters... you know the drill. Who has ever splashed out and just traveled in pure good old fashioned luxury?

Garage List
Back when I lived in Queens I rode around in a limo for about 6 hours doing a full sightseeing of NY. This was maybe 1991 when I was 13 and it was complimentary.

For a period in my life, I traveled fairly exclusively in a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis (sort of like a land yacht). Would that count?

I travel long haul a lot, Toronto to Sydney with kids in tow every 18 months. It's a savage experience with kids as it's a 5 hour and near 16 hour flight heading east.

Last year we had the points for Business class, even United's Business class .. it was ... i mean jeeeeeeeebus what a difference.

If you get a group of people together, a private jet is not that much more than flying like a peasant.

I almost bought a 86 Lincoln Limo for $1500 that ran and drove. My only problem was I refused to drive my own limo and could not get the guy to drop it off at my house.

Did a helicopter tour of Maui on our honeymoon. But not helicopter travel. Been in limos. No private jets.

We're on a BMW forum, I'd imagine everyone here has their own private jet and a limo chauffeur.

Why the hell would I want someone else driving me around?

Although, the new cars are not nearly as fun to drive....maybe that's it?

When I was younger I had a personal servant who I demanded to carry me on his back whenever I didnt feel like walking.
There's nothing more luxurious than having true servants.

Wife and I did first class on Lufthansa for our ED in 2016 Vancouver to Munich. It was a pretty awesome experience. Financially probably not worth doing again, but I dont regret it. First class is reserved for people who have zero need to rationalize the cost. Sadly, I'm not in that class.

Once I was on an airplane that had recently had the first class section upgraded and reduced in size but they had left some of the old first class seats at the front of the coach section that I got to sit in, that's as close as I've been haha

Closest I've been is getting bumped to business class on a trip to Japan on Delta. What a difference indeed. Actually got an hour or 2 of sleep compared to none.

Is it Turkish Air or Ethiad that has that cabin with the closing slider that looks like you just boarded a train?

We go on almost 20 hour flights to the Phils yearly now. We tried business class once and never looked back. Lie flat seats (or beds) are the best on those long hauls. Service is great too not to mention the food and drinks flow like crazy. I think we look forward to the flights nowadays due to that.
