ARM Motorsports has a front mounted cold air intake kit for the N63TU for $500. I'm giving that some deep consideration but not sure if it would be compatible with the latest generation of the N63TU3 in your guys M50s. Just have to weight the pros and cons. I doubt I'd get any performance gains, if not a slight performance loss. But the turbo sounds would be cool! |

Here you go. It doesn't help the M50i folks any.... but hopefully it's helpful

The EU models don't have the extra charcoal air filters, only the paper ones. I've tried today to remove them and they are not there

I have noticed from several sources, that quite often, the M50i models show a 530hp rating.... whereas often I see them with a 523hp rating. Remember the AutotopNL youtube video? That M50i he said was rated at 530. I wonder.... if it's a Euro vs US version.... and I wonder if it's BECAUSE of those charcoal filters? I don't think a 7hp increase is out of the question, when you consider you're removing half the airflow restriction. |

The plot gets thicker lol.
Either way.... I'm glad I removed them, and I'm glad some other folks are motivated to do the same. I haven't even driven my car yet. Yesterday, I did the whole intake thing.... and then in the afternoon, I did it's first oil change with a writeup on the maintenance sub-forum. I'm not sure if I'll notice a difference or not.... but I'm pretty sure it has to be worth at least a few hp. Probably only at the high Rpm range though, in which case it will be undetectable by the "butt-dyno" I'm not going to do anything with the emissions system..... yet. Eventually, I'll be bringing this car with me when I rotate back to the US, and I'm unsure where I'll end up, what the state laws will be, what the inspection requirements will be, or even what the US re-importation requirements will be. Too much of a risk to mess with that stuff now. Looking at that exhaust though.... I definitely do NOT have those on my car. I was just under it yesterday when I was changing my oil, and I was eyeballing the resonator for possible delete. I would have noticed those. As soon as I (hopefully) make my way to TX or FL..... downpipes, and maybe even a turbo upgrade if anything is available by then. Last edited by Ninefourteener; 05-22-2020 at 09:11 AM.. |

Good news for the 50i guys, the air filter measurements are indeed the same (just confirmed) and should be compatible with no issue. Question remains, do I get the K&N filters or do a new intake system. Have to weigh the pros and cons. What are you guys with M50s doing? |

Except maybe removing the charcoal filters. Currently, no one makes anything (not even a K&N) for the M50i. Can't stay that way forever though. Eventually we'll see something. |

Not sure why but many of the aftermarket suppliers have been slow with support for the G05 chassis in general, a real disappointment. |

I am still not convinced an intake is good bang for the buck on this vehicle. K&N plus charcoal delete likely can flow well for the power levels we all want. |

I'm gonna be placing an order for the M550 K&Ns today. I think the stock airbox design overall is sufficient. 👍🏻 |

CONFIRMED: as expected, the K&N filters for the M550i DO INDEED fit the 2019 G05 50i N63R engine intakes.
The increase in performance isn't night and day, but it is certainly noticeable, most specifically the throttle response at lower RPMs. Pictures attached (please excuse the dusty engine bay, it's a working progress) |

Correction and update: Holy crap! I can feel a difference. More then I originally thought.
M50i guys, get on the phone with K&N immediately and tell them to hurry up, LOL! |
