hmmm does it have to do something with the Drive Recorder App? Do you have the Drive Recorder App in your iDrive Apps area?
If not then go to your Connect Drive account and subscribe to that service then wait a few hours for the OTA notification. Well, this is just my assumption and I am not sure if the Drive recorder has any kind of binding with it. Good luck! |

I'm on 11/2019.34, and can verify that this OTA update has come through. So looks like OTA is working in Australia.

I spoke too soon, I'm getting the following message, and it wont move on to actually loading. The vehicle is parked in the garage and stationary with Park (P) engaged.
Anyone else had this issue? |

found this on the connected drive website for my vehicle, 40i. Last sentence of 1st paragraph basically says its only for X5M. Guess the rest of us are SOL.

LOL, no worries. It's probably be a staggered OTA release hence not everyone has received it yet - kinda like what MS is doing with Windows 10 May feature build 2004 update.

I am also from Australia and can confirm got the OTA yesterday. After installing it all my coding was gone. Also it was stuck on will let you once it is ready to install so found out that it was due battery not charged as per the firmware requirements. Put on a charger and after 30 mins went through fine.

Finally, received OTA over the week end.
Update was smooth, took around 3 hours from downloading latest version onto phone to installing it except for a minor issue. After the download on the phone ConnectDrive app didn't recognize connection to the car even though both Wifi and Bluetooth were connected. Had to use USB cable to connect to the car for the upgrade. Didn't notice anything new except for speech recognition animation. |

Yep it finally got installed, but only after I put the car's battery on charge for a couple of hours with my smart charger.
Seems the car will not allow the S/W upgrade to proceed unless the battery is over a certain % of charge. The charger pushed the battery over 80% (I was running it at 8A), after which I took it for a short drive. As soon as I turned the car off after arriving home, the S/W upgrade started. It took around ~25 minutes. FYI - the smart charger measured the battery charge at 59% prior to charging - so it looks like this isn't high enough for the car to initiative a S/W upgrade. |

I remember the message you're getting, it was an interim message between uploading the S/W and the final message (see below) prior to the car loading it. Connect your phone and ensure its in the phone charger, and just leave it there, it should move on to the final message (as per below)- and then begin the upgrade - assuming your car is stationery and the battery is above a certain level. I noticed some new behavior in the adaptive cruise control and lane assist.
On my way to work there is a 'road divider'. The system was never able to handle this situation correctly in my 5 months of ownership prior to the update. (see link to youtube video below to clarify) Last week, a few days after the update, I noticed it could handle the road divider. But the next time it failed again, huh? why? After a week I got it figured out. Seems that when there is a car driving in front of me, the system can now handle (this) 'road divider'. It did not do that before the update. I'm driving on this road at least once a day. Made a video of it. Did try several times. It worked when a car was driving in front of me and failed when there is not. |

Are you sure that your car isn't just following the trajectory of the car in front of you, ignoring the road divider in both cases? The same way the cars manage to avoid some potholes if the car in front swirls around it?
