Auto Start/Stop Disabled
Hi
Lately no matter what mode I'm in, even Eco Pro, when the engine would normally auto stop, an icon will suddenly appear saying Auto Start/Stop and will have a line through it. But then once and awhile it will work. No I'm not pressing the disable button. :P Any ideas? Not trying to start the start stop debate, just trying to understand how it works. I know disabling it permanently has been one of the Holy Grails of these, so maybe I somehow got close.

This is a from an older training, but maybe the outside temperature is the reason?
"External conditions such as the outside temperature (MSA only operates at temperatures ≤ +3 °C) can result in the MSA function being unavailable for extended periods." http://www.londonroadgarage.com/imag...nd%20Start.pdf |

I'm in MN and it's been 10-20 degrees F so might be it. Thanks!

A icon and the slash through it that means the feature is turned on but system requirements have not been met for it to activate. There are lots of conditions that can cause it to not activate. Here's a couple: What was the ambient temp? Was the operating temperature of the engine is too low? (Most likely the issue during cold weather) Was the vehicle running idle speed? Was the brake pedal not pressed firmly? Was the vehicle was not driven at a speed of > 5 km/h (3 mph) following the previous engine shutdown? Was the ambient temperature above +30°C (86 °F) (with heating and air conditioning system switched on)?

Not hard. Do it automatically, without thinking, every time I start the X5/F15 and it isn't even my daily driver (wife's X5). Now wiper/indicator stocks switched between my daily driver and the F15 now that's a different story,, "honest officer I DID SIGNAL, didn't you see the wipers moving!"..

Same Issue
Hi everyone so I have been having the same issue.
From my experience and personal opinion The G05 consumes a lot of electricity, therefore it has two batteries. I left my car for 10 weeks and when I came back my batteries were super low. I also do not drive that much an a daily basis. Maybe 10-20 miles a day currently. I do not know how it is for the rest of you having the same issue. I believe my start/stop does not activate since my batteries are low even after having charged them fully. |

Another reason Auto Start/Stop may not work is Battery charge.
My dealer Service Manager mentioned that if the Battery charge is low, the car automatically disables Start/Stop. With your cold weather, your Battery may be low - have you charged it? |

Does the rest of the car work fine, no yellow warning lights? If so, for some of us that disable ASS through other means, you have discovered another option..😊
