Some have said the piano black is easy to scratch. My G06 is on the way and will be having the XPEL Ultimate Pro installed. Can the trim be done too?

No way would you want to cover the beautiful lacquer you paid extra for with a plastic film. That’s nuts. BMW piano black is buffed to perfection like a piece of fine furniture. The depth is amazing. It doesn’t scratch easy but rather many people are not use to living with fine furniture and thow glasses and keys on it as they slide around when moving. Try that on my Steinway and it will show the same results but I will stop you way before you try.

Anyone tried ceramic pro on either the wood or the black plasticky trim on the interior? My detailer was telling me that they make something for interiors and leather...

Pure carnauba wax works well on the wood trim. It also can be buffed even more for a really deep gloss. Use a soft and clean microfiber towel. I prefer to use P21 on mine to take it to the next level of shine. The lacquer is like a fine clear coat and responds as such. Not all piano black wood trim is even close to the same quality or depth. The cheap stuff looks like black plastic. BMW and RR use the exact same tulipwood and hand buffing methods to bring out the deep luster. We had a thread on this a few months back.

the piano black is very nice but I didn't want to scratch it.. so I had PPF installed on it.. supper happy I did %
