Quota advice needed!
Hey!
I was interested to lease a specific X5 40i xDrive with MSRP of $78,945. Lease terms: 36mo, 10K miles/year, zero down payment. The dealer offered me today $1237 per month plus $2800 at signing ("1237 with 2800 due at signing. Covers the fees"). Mentioned that they gave me $1100 off or approx 1.4%. Please advise if these numbers look right? (considering all this current situation with chips/shortages/etc). If not, what terms would be reasonable? Thank you!!! D |

The 1.4% discount sounds low. The good news is that NY tri-state area is a competitive market with number of dealers concentrated in the area. Reach out to 5-6 dealers from their website with your build code and specifically ask them to give you a quote before any incentives, rebates etc. You will be surprised how aggressive some of them are in terms of pricing. Good luck with your search.

In general discounts are much lower than normal but I would think you should be able to do better than 1.4%. I would also suggest you don't negotiate by monthly payment but rather the discount. Get all of the details of the deal including MSRP, dealer discount, any incentives, Money Factor, Residual, fees, taxes, etc. Do a little reading about how a lease payment is calculated so you can double check what the dealer is giving you. Leasehacker has a good lease calculator. You could also post all of the information here and I'm sure someone would run the numbers for you. Good luck.

Agree with the former posts, discounts are lower at the moment due to supply issues but you should be getting at least 7-8% off from what I've been seeing in the tri-state area in the past couple of months. I'm in the market myself and just got offered a $99.7k car for around $86k last month after discounts, loyalty and incentives. Waiting for MY2022 so that I can build my car and hopefully get some options back.
Good luck

I reached out to dealers and gave up after so many horrible quotes. Check out leasehackr and brokers in the tristate. The discounts are ranging from 5-9% currently it seems

Agree, find a broker and consider an out of state purchase. I used a broker in December when the deals were better, but got nearly 15k more car for lower monthlies. Out of state you will be able to use multiple security deposits too, which are not allowed in NY.
