New m3/4 carbon fiber paddle shifters

Do you think we can swap out our paddle shifters for the new m3/4 ones? If so, anyone know if the carbon fiber shifters will be available through bmw.

Yes you can. The fitment is OEM as expected. Install is straight forward, just look up some youtube install vids of BMW paddle shifters.

I guess BMW is too cheap to make this standard equipment on all M models especially those higher than M3/4..

Here are some pics and part numbers..

I kind of like them. So what is the kings ransom for them?

Just installed mine. Definitely WAY better than the dinky stock ones. I've tried after market ones on other BMWs and never liked the feel, since aftermarket ones tend to flex and feel insecure. (I've seen YouTube videos where people break aftermarket paddles while aggressively shifting!)

Anyways, it shouldn't come as a surprise that these OEM paddles are PERFECT. Zero flex, they're large and easy to find during cornering, and they look great! Definitely worth the cost to go OEM.

Looks great. If it was me, I would also remove the silver trim around the steering wheel buttons and install the M3/M4 matching trim piece.

I like how you think. Does the g8x have assisted driving with the lights on the steering wheel? I was over on the IND site and the "leather+CF+heated" g8x trim piece didn't seem to have an option for those flashing lights. I'll check out one of the BMW part sites to see if there's a separate model number for that trim piece.

When ordered with the correct option, I believe it has the lights on the steering wheel.

Ideally that would be good.
But, it doesn't fit as far as I know.
Different airbag opening.
