Aluminum Crossline Trim
Does anyone here have the Aluminum Crossline interior, and if so, any pics?
I was unable to find any on the forum search. |

What I have a hard time understanding is the texture of it. I now have just under a year left on my 2019 X5 lease, and I'm most likely going to upgrade to an X5/X6M Comp.
However, I've gotten quite used to the matte, open pore wood feeling of my current X5. The carbon fiber in the M models now has a gloss finish and feels quite plasticky to the touch. This is opposed to the new RSQ8, which has a pretty incredible open-weave carbon trim. I'm wondering if the crossline interior has the matte feel to it? It looks like it does but can't tell. |

While I don't have this option....I really wanted it with the Silverstone Interior but I'm too OCD about the seats being dirt magnets...but back to this..the photo above looks similar to what I saw at the LA Auto Show. I took a pic and attached it here. This was their Press Release car in 2019 and it had the Aluminum.
Yes, unlike the Carbon Fiber it is NOT shiny. The CF does show some finger prints and dust if you glance at it in the sun. This option does have a texture and at the Auto Show didn't show any signs of prints or dust and it is a relatively matte finish. Not completely matte like the wood your explaining but not shiny either. I like it and if you don't want shiny, it's a great alternative. |

It also appears much lighter than CF in color, and I think it would pair well with most any interior choice. |

Accidentally included this in my build. Totally thought I went for the carbon fibre but messed up my build and didn't add it. Turns out I really like it as CF is EVERYWHERE and this gives it a different look especially against the Mineral White Metallic/Sahkir. I can go outside and take some more pics if it helps.

One thing i should note, while the CF has a smooth feel, the Crossline is a bit "rougher". Looks great, but doesn't have the sheen of CF.

I love the look and matte finish and would love to get it, but paranoid that it's easily damaged and/or cheap - doesn't look that way in your pics but hard to tell ... your thoughts? |

That's kinda what I was thinking - if it's matte & looks good, then I'm probably in cuz glossy anything is out and that crossline stuff looks like factory flooring.
