Were beyond expectations and definitely worth a thought. For the future Im actually not ready for an electric car following my M4 conv. and considered to add a classic fuel engine in between. And yes, it could be the new G82 with that ugly a$$ grille.
After seeing a few of them in person the big grille is not as off-putting as it was at first.

Since you have pre-big grille M4, I'm curious why you think the 3 series is ugly. Your M4 looks so similar but without the roof of course.

I think the shock of those big grilles wears off after seeing them a few times. You get used to it. Other car companies are making bigger grilles as well. It will soon be the norm. At least for some cars.

They are both hideous tbh. If the M had a better looking grill then that would be the one I'd choose

It's weird how you can get accustomed to something if you see it enough. I can't believe I'm saying this but that BMW doesn't look so bad. Kill me now.

But why should we have to get used to it? Why can't it just be awesome from the start and continue to be awesome. I don't care what's the norm nowadays; the big grilles all look shit. BMWs possibly even more so, because their starting point in the design was so much nicer.

I like the G80 as well... I think it looks kinda aggressive and mean.

The model 3 on the other hand.... all I can see is a duck-billed platypus.

I think this happens often though. When Audi first came out with their large grills they weren't received very well (not quite as controversial as the G80 grill), and now they're seen as beautiful cars.

Maybe it's the price to pay for forward looking design Initial shock and even disgust... and eventually you start to like it. The jury is still out on whether people will start to like the G80 though...
