The residual up top is incorrect for April. It should be 56% for 10K miles.

Yes, sorry about that folks.

Lease Requirements

Hello,

Not sure if this is the proper thread but I'm looking to get some insight on credit and income requirements to lease a BMW. I currently drive a 2015 428i and I acquired it via Fair.com which is similar to a lease but without the obligations to keep the car for a certain term.

I'm looking to lease a 2020 X6, income is decent but credit could use some work. So I'm wanting to get as much info as I can to prepare. Goal is to be in on by July 2020.

Any insight would be very appreciated! Cheers.

What color? I’d say 10-13 percent off MSRP?

New member here, appreciate the collective wisdom and knowledge in this forum!
Coming from MB and Audi, thinking about getting a BMW next. Prefer a compliant ride but also want to experience a performance vehicle, so planning on leasing a X5MC.
Here are a couple of lease quotes I got from nearby dealers in Houston, Texas.
15k miles per yr/ 36 months.
Quote 1
Selling price- $123795.00 ( No discount)
Residual - 53%
MF- .00158 ( 3.792% APR)
Initial payment: $2500 ( First month payment and fees)
Monthly payment- $2192.61

Quote 2
Selling price- $119800 ( 3.2% discount)
Residual - 53%
MF- .00118 ( 2.832%APR)
Acquisition fee- $925
TTL and Doc fees- $335.00
Monthly payment-$2176.00
Initial payment- $2176.00

My credit score is 830+.

I ran the numbers for the second quote thru multiple online calculators and monthly payments are supposed to be about $1830-1861, what am I missing?
I did not look further into the first quote due to no discounts and jacked up MF.

Both are for 2021 custom order for a X5MC with Driving assistance, Executive pkg and B&W.

Thank you and Looking forward to your opinions.

$2,000/month+ money down? That is ridiculous. I am paying $1220/month for my $99,250 MSRP X5 5.0 and I put no money down + I live in VA so the taxes are paid at time of signing (included in monthly payment).

I was planning on getting a X6MC after my current lease is over but not with the numbers I am seeing.

Doesn't matter to me, whichever will yield the greatest discount.

Good to know but I checked with multiple online lease calculators and I get $2028 per month with .00118 MF and selling price of 119,800. In Texas, you also pay taxes on the selling price.
My plan is to try and get 6% off.

BMW is going the wrong way if they want to spark new sales. Residual has dropped from 57% back in March to 56 and now 55% for 10K miles.

Just signed a lease on an X5MC. $1628/mo. from a NorCal dealer.

Black Sapphire/Sakhir Orange
MSRP: 123,795
Adjusted Cost: $114,327
Money Factor: .00158 (see below)
Lease Term: 36/10
Incentives: $1000 Loyalty
DAS: $2879 (First Month + Fees -- haven't received paperwork)

First, between here and Leasehackr I am so profoundly grateful for all the insight from everyone. My current X5 lease, on the exact same term was nearly $50K less expensive. But thanks to you fine folks, my payment on this car, with a higher MF, is only a few hundred more per month.

Second, I know the MF is marked up a bit, but when they offered a $9500 discount OUT OF THE GATE, I couldn't pass it up. Only one other dealership came close. I had some dealers who wanted $2500 over MSRP and to b*ng my sister to even have the privilege to purchase the car.

I did a ton of due diligence and probably sent out about 30 inquiries (on lots of cars) so I'd be happy to forward some of the M8 (both GC, vert and Coupe), X5M (Comp and Non Comp) deals if you PM me. If you're in FL, be happy to share my experiences here as well.

UPDATE:

Dealer emails and pulls some bullsh*t about BMWFS won't approve without $10,500 down. Mind you, this is after I've paid a ~$3000 first month/deposit that's DAS, engaged vehicle transport service (should be able to get that $ back) AND made provisions for the turn-in of my current lease.

Dealer was supposed to refund my deposit yesterday, now I've got to wait for the finance manager and it will be Monday or Tuesday. So frustrating! If you hadn't run the credit app, why take the first month and deposit? Just wasted two weeks w/ this nonsense.

C'est Bimmer la vie.

I've seen this happen several times on $100k bmws as a stipulation. Ask the finance manager if you can do MSDs instead of a down payment. At least you get the money back at the end of the lease.
